It's not just width of the tire vs width of the rim though. 33x12.5s on factory rims will pull that big fat tire in reeeeeal close. aftermarket rims will push the tire out for more turning radius. but again, 33x10.5s will work in that aspect too. Pete M Posted October 16, 2010 Share Posted October 16, 2010 keep in mind that you might have tire rubbing on the bed wall when the rear tires flex up. a set of quality wheel spacers should fix that (as well as make the front and rear match in terms of tire sticking out from the fenders). or you can extend the bumpstops. or both. :thumbsup: extended bumpstops up front might be good too. MJCARENA Posted October 16, 2010 Share Posted October 16, 2010 BFG makes a 33x10.0x15 all terrain tire. I had them on my XJ in the 31x10.5x15 size. Worked great for me,(sand,dirt,and rocks. never had them in mud so I don't know about that) :yes: When I went to 33x12.5x15 BFG M/T I had to get rims with more offset because they did rub on the frame in the rear. codymanche Posted October 16, 2010 Share Posted October 16, 2010 wel i cut my fenders for wheel travel when i get "twisted" as we call it out here and i don't rub i have a coil spacer i believe in the front and i fit 33x12.50r15x10 and i rub a lil like hard turn but no sway bar either so its like a sec and goes away lol but i have another set out rims that i wanna put on the are a huge offset and never rubbed and a buddy of mine has them on his cherokee and likes them and they are 15x10 too wide and will not need wheel spacers i saw a wheel spacer break on a friend and ended up getting a axle. I'm on 4.5 lift and 33s are my logic but would prolly leave little flex room. 31s would flex it out but look small on that lift. and hell 32s cost more then either but would prolly be the proper size. i guess for me (sorry to hijack) its about money in the end. so even if 33s are a tad big, its cheaper. I'm just supper glad that i don't have to get new rims that can get into alot of $ (and i really like my rims). Ill look around for spacers also but i won't worry to much. The bfg MT would be a good dual use tire. oh do they suck for that? my pirelli all terrain tires work great for that type of off roading. I have never looked into any type of mud tire because all I ever hear is that they don't last long and they ride like crap on the road right? There are basically 2 different grades of "mud terrain". Those that are designed mostly to be a more aggressive allterrain (meaning they still work good on pavement), and those that are balls-out mud tires (meaning, well, you know). go with the first ones if they are your only tires, go with the second if you have street tires too.
