terrawombat
Looks like it was well cared for and in good shape. Wondering if this is/was a member's on here and if anyone knows anything about it.
jimoshel
I believe that looks like Gen Custers personal Jeep. The army wouldn't issue him one so he purchased it with his own funds. On that fateful day it was out of gas and so got left behind, explaining it's survival. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. :smart:

terrawombat
I'd love to slide a felt magnet down the sides; looks like a Bondo baby............ Do you see any areas that may indicate that or is that just speculation? For the record, I'm looking to buy (well, trade) for this Jeep. Its got a Cherokee Country woodgrain instrument panel. Possibly a Cherokee Limited? Also where the seats came out of? leather... woodgrain... idiot lights? I guess all of the 'good' parts weren't stripped from the suspected XJ donor vehicle... kastein
Seats look like the leather ones out of a RENIX era Limited. I've seen em in the JY before, just in much worse shape :( would have grabbed them otherwise.
terrawombat
Well, if I end up with this MJ, you can have 'em as long as I can find some tan, cloth buckets. Leather and doggy nails don't really go together well...

Bring a magnet. :D Image Not Found
deziped
Yup, them look like my old 89 limited seats. MJ with a radar detoctor, must be a fast one.

Leather and doggy nails don't really go together well... How much would you want for em? Or what parts in trade? (I can start looking for tan cloth buckets to fit MJ rails...) deziped, mine will accelerate to 90mph going uphill with an entire spare drivetrain, tools to install it, all spare fluids, and all my camping gear in the back
Pete M
I'm not entirely sure my 86 would do 90mph if it was dropped out the back of a plane.
jimoshel
I've got the plane. Wanna find out? Any way there are formulas that give the estimated speed of falling objects. As usual I can't find anything when I want it. 120 mph is pretty much the accepted speed. things like temperature, humidity, etc effects it but 120 is generally accepted. Whether the motors running or not makes no difference.

HOrnbrod
Yep, I'd bet on it for sure. Dave's right - be careful mate. Do you know the VIN? I'd run it.

Nope - don't know the VIN, but I could get it. I know it's definitely been painted and will certainly look out for the tell-tale signs of sub-par work. I like how I'm already making deals on a truck I don't even own yet :D
