Hey guys so on the 4th of july I figured id take my gf out to the beach to watch all the fireworks and I drove out onto the beach and a cop pulled me over on the trail out to the beach because I also had my friend and his gf on his lap.. so I do the whole license and registration thing and the other cop shines his flashlight in my glovebox and sees this clear/white canister and says "Son I'm gon have to to ask to step out of the veehickal" while looking at the canister he trys arguing with me saying its drugs and hes trying to break me down by saying hes going to have to detain me and test the canister for drugs and I tried telling it him it was in my jeep when I got it from my dad while trying to remember the name of the metallic shavings known as STOP LEAK LOL so while we all have our hands on the hood hes searching the rest of my manche and couldnt figure out how to fold the seat down :rotfl2: so I asked if I can "assist" the officer before he breaks the seat hahah after finally remebering the name of the powdery substance in the canister and telling the stupid cop and explaining that My radiator used to leak and I would put a little of this LEGAL "substance" into my radiator and it would no longer leak he tested it in his little handy dandy drug test kit and came back and put my license and registration on my hand and said sorry for the hassle you can be on your way...I was about to do this :rotf:

large city cops are the worst

if you are clean with no crimminal record thay don't need to be d$%ks

i always try and be pleasant when dealing with "the filth", but if they get snotty i just clam-up and give them "the look". never argue, be as respectful as warranted.

traffic cops are the only ones i ever worry about nowadays, and they don't seem to care if you have drugs, as long as your "licence plate is affixed to the vehical in the proper manner".(that was my last one) . the one before that was for a seat belt infraction, i had a young lady with me at the time and the cop looked at her and asked me if this was my daughter (obviously trying to be a ****.)

I've found the 'be respectful' thing to not work. Of the seven times I've been pulled over in my driving career, being polite earned me six tickets. The one time I was a total @$$ to the cop, he let me go. Right when he pulled me over, I got a phone call from a buddy that I picked up (this was long before driving with cell phones was illegal). The cop walks over to my car as I'm on the phone and knocks on my window for me to roll it down and as soon as I do, he starts asking for my license and registration. I put my finger up to my nose and "sushed" him and then pointed to my cell phone. He said, 'tell you buddy you'll call him back.' So I got off the phone, gave him my license and registration and he wanted to get me for doing 46 in a 40. Asked me a couple questions about my car and gave me my stuff back and told me to slow it down and let me go. Really strange because he was an NJ beach cop and they are ALWAYS strict.

I didn't mean to be a fool to him and I'm usually overly courteous, but I guess being young, dumb, and 18 I thought I was invincible. I think I also had 4 30 packs of beer in my trunk...I was walking a thin line that day. Someone was looking out for me.

I've had a mixed bag... been pulled over a bunch, ALWAYS courteous:

* doing 93 in a 65 (yeah...), ticket, pled and got the 300 dollar surcharge removed and the ticket reduced a bit, paid up

* "ran a stop sign" when there was no sign, cop gave me a huge attitude and called me an idiot, gave me a ticket, fought it and won :fs1:

* doing 55 in a 35 (I honestly thought it was a 50 zone, and the road was empty and clear), cop wrote down 44 as my speed because I was polite and admitted what speed I was going instead of lying to him

* stopped to take a short nap in a parking lot on my way home, cop thought I was a burglar, spoke to me and asked me to park in front of the police station instead of in front of a random building, I did so

* parked at a rest stop on 495 on my way home (from the same place, NAXJA president's house, again, I have bad luck, this is the third time, the 55 in a 35 was on my way to his place), cop saw empty beer crates in the back and questioned me, I was clearly sober so he left me alone

* doing figure 8s in a parking lot at a city park (tires were NOT squealing, no rubber left, I wasn't going more than 5mph or so and didn't even have my foot on the gas, just idling) while trying to figure out a steering issue, cop stopped, gave me a HUGE attitude, told me to get out of the car and put my hands on the hood while telling me he could send me to jail RIGHT NOW, every time I opened my mouth even when he was asking me questions he yelled at me like I was disrespecting him or something, yanked the seats on the MJ HARD trying to get them to fold forward and nearly broke them, I told him how to move them forward and he told me to get back in the car and get ****ing lost (because he couldn't figure out anything to give me a ticket or haul me in for and realized he was making a major @$$ of himself), wish I'd gotten his badge number, would have filed a complaint because I've never been threatened and given so much crap over nothing in my life :headpop:

* pulled over on the way home from work, at just after midnight, given a written warning about the cracked windshield and the fact that I'd been sitting in the left lane for about 3 miles, cop did not care at all that I was doing 75 in a 65 (his words were "yeah you were doing about 75, it's not the end of the world")

* pulled over on the way back from helping my friend Jack fix his airplane, due to cracked windshield, told the cop it was a project, my only driveable vehicle (all true) and that I'd already fixed a bunch of safety-related stuff, let me go with a verbal warning, probably because I stopped the vehicle, put it in park, then turned the engine off and put my hands on the steering wheel where he could see them perfectly (as I always do when stopped.) Pretty sure he appreciated the honesty and fact that I was trying as hard as possible to make him not worry about being shot.

In short, I need to get that damn windshield fixed ASAP... wish I had somewhere to pull it and fix the rust on the windshield frame :(

I have been pulled over for many things over my time and the one thing that seams to work is if you did something wrong and you know it or if you have anything outstanding just tell them before they pull it up in the computer since they are going to find out anyways and your likely to go with a warning...

When I have been pulled over for something stupid or no reason at all I will always debate it with the cop especially if I already know the law regarding that issue because if knows you know what he is talking about then there is a good chance you will make him look bad in court when you fight it so they tend to leave you alone if know more about what he is tring to ticket you with...

The funny thing is the last time I was pulled over the cop tried to say I was speeding and that he had to do 75 to catch me (i was doing 60KPH and he would have had to do 75 to make up the distance between us) and that I was "Stunt driving" we now have a BS law regarding stunt driving... I Was in my CJ on 35's with a calibrated speedo so When I pointed this out he was a little pissy and went to his car to only come back with a new attitude, Thing is I look younger then I am and I suspect he thought i was a kid and when he realized I was alot older then he thought I was he gave me back my paperwork and walked away...

Kastein... I just think the beat up MJ in Worcester is suspect..Lmao

(I was born and raised in Boston)

hahaha yeah probably. I hate this hellhole of a town...

The 93 in a 65, 55 in a 35, and being talked to after a nap, basically everything up till the figure 8s in the parking lot were all in my 96 XJ, which was stock till just before the beer box in the back + nap incident. Everything after that has been in the MJ, since I've been DDing it pretty much constantly since February. I think I've put maybe 400 miles on the XJ and approx 15-20 on the MJ since then :dunno:
