neohic
I'm working on my '88 Eliminator and the lower four inches of my box is in tough shape... dissapointing because of the shape of the rest of the truck. Does anyone know if new box sides are available anywhere?
Pete M
only if you're incredibly lucky and find one buried in the back rooms at an old dealership. :(
Geonovast
To top that off, all NOS bedsides I've seen were for LWBs. Unless you have one of the ultra-rare LWB Eliminators, it just makes that even more difficult.
Pete M
rust free beds are available in junkyards down south and out west.
64 Cheyenne
rust free beds are available in junkyards down south and out west. I like the way that sounds "Out west" Especially when it means that both of my MJs are relatively rust free.
husky410ohio
I have asked large body shop supply houses and no bed sides or patch panels are available. I have the 7 foot bed and there is so much rust I touched the flare and they fell off both sides of the truck. I plan on drilling out all the spot welds to remove the bed sides and bending new patch panels on a sheet metal brake. I have a flange bending tool that I can weld the patches on. I have seen picture of this done before but I did a search on this site and can not find them or it was on another forum? This person said the bends are easy to make on a sheet metal brake. I thought about doing that, but my main problem is the rear lower corners (all round and stuff). I like the look of a full box, but maybe I should just cut the corners off and make up a bumper that wraps around from wheel well to wheel well. JeepcoMJ
Gil (bullykatz) has another LWB eliminator in kenosha, wi that I set him up with...came from a guy a mile from my parents house, but it was not a "WI price" so I personally passed on it. neohic
Good news! I just found a box somewhat local to me... only about a four hour drive one way... The guy said it has been on his shelf for about 14 years! Hoping for the best.
