neohic
So, I've got to deliver a bunch of beer-makin' vats out to my wife's uncle's place near Colorado Spring once I'm done making then. The issue is he doesn't have a truck to come get them, doesn't want to pay for shipping, but he is willing to pay me to bring them out there. That makes for a roadtrip in Eliminator!... granted I get it done in time. Anybody in the area know any good trails? Granted, I will need to drive it back to Minnesota so nothing real crazy or anything. We're looking to be out there sometime in August or September this summer. Thanks guys! Pete M
Colorado has TONS of great trails! Problem with this time of year is figuring out which of them is passable and which has 10 feet of snow. :dunno:

Pete M
oops, missed that part. although I went in late May/early June and some of the state parks were still snowed in. check out the rocky mountain trip planning forum.

Pete M
they are more than a mile higher up in the atmosphere than you. the mountains are always much cooler than the lowlands.

87Warrior
View this site: http://bushducks.com/tripreps/passopen.htm Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the Springs area, only the High Country :brows: If you have time, try to get over to the San Juans, Ouray, and stay a night or two. The best of what CO has to offer is in this area. In mid-late June 2008 I tried exploring some of the service trails around Vail. I was owned by snow. It just takes one, un-blasted through drift to ruin your day. If you happen to take I70 through KS, I could wheel with ya around the Manhattan area :dunno:

DJM/78
yeah , man !! Come on down and see me . I live in the springs , let me know when your coming down . Pete's right though , plan on a tune up before you come up here . the lack of oxygen makes it hard on old motors . Dave M.

Our old '93 XJ purrs along perfectly up high, unlike my folks 05 Hummer H3 which pukes out worse than a loaded down TBI suburban :ack:
DJM/78
Mine does O.K , up until about 10,000 ft . Then starts to get a little sluggish . I put a new air cleaner on and it does run a little better .
