mvusse
Going from memory, I believe my stock 4.0/AW4 D35 measures 48".
mvusse
Just measured the bent and dented one laying in my driveway. 48.25" center to center on the u joint ears. That's off an 87 4.0/auto 4x4 D35.
87Warrior
This is from a '91, LWB, 4x4, AW4, NP231, D44 rig: The slip yoke is right at 5" When I set this shaft beside the D35 shaft in my truck, it was clearly shorter as it should be since the pinion is longer on the D44. Sorry, I don't want to crawl under my muddy truck to measure!
waggy
thanks guys , i will be running a aw4 with np242 and a d44 with 5-6 in lift .. i don't think there will be any need for fixed yoke , but maybe a CV driveshaft ..
Pete M
no real need for a CV shaft. these aren't XJs afterall. :D For that combo and lift, I'd run something close to the 49". Hard to say for sure without measuring the truck with its completed setup.
pingpong
I know when I had a bed on my Truggy my rig had a 53" driveshaft. The rig was a 4.0w/aw4 np231w/sye and 8.8.
