Pete M
it's possible for sure. see the novac or advance adapters websites for details and the parts you'll need.
choochoo1996
Luckily for me I work in a welding shop.....with access to alot of equipment....so fabing isnt a problem....what I would like to know is has this ever been attempted and if so where can I find a good write up on it...I have searched for months and found nothing but the same questions I have....So I guess I better document this well ..... Pete M
all the info I have in my head came from the advance adapters website (and that little booklet they used to give out). I would recommend starting there for tips

choochoo1996
but I have the whole donor truck....complete....
Geonovast
If you've got the whole donor, time, money, fab skills, and the truck doesn't need to be running, definitely go for it. Is the S-10 a driver's side drop for the T-case?
86FUBAR
I'm 99 % sure that all the ifs chebys are D-side drop
kro10000
well this may be more difficult than you think... the 2.8 v6 belongs to the gm 60 degree family, the 4.3 is of the 90 degree variety. the 3.4 is a 60 degree motor and a direct bolt in
Pete M
Yup, keeping the MJ stuff is out. But he should be able to use the complete chevy drivetrain.
kro10000
Well if youre gonna do all that work might as well put in a cummins 6BT :D might need to slightly reinforce the chassis... maybe... naw :chillin:
Automan2164
Sell off the 4.3L Stuff, buy a 60 degree v-6. Pull out the 2.8, drop in the new mill, call it a day. Rob L.
kro10000
:agree:
Darren
Going to a 3.4 is taking the easy way out. You already have a 4.3, and you said you work in a fab shop. A 4.3l in an MJ would be badass. Just do it already.
Rockyrider367
If you have all the drivetrain allready and have the fab skills I would go with the 4.3. I am also looking to put a 4.3 in mine in place of the tired 2.5.
kro10000
well if you are going to do the work you might consider just going SBC, you should be able to get a basic 305 or 350 for the 4.
Pete M
4.3 will be easier to keep cool. ask pilotblake about his v8 cooling issues. :D
Automan2164
Well if your are going to do the whole drivetrain and everyone is banking on your fab skills, sell the 4.3L drivetrain, and buy a 4.0L HO drivetrain. Put that in. Keep it jeep. The GM crap is what got ya into this mess. Don't put GM crap back in. Rob L.
choochoo1996
well guys, the 4.3 is in but I would not do another...I did this cause complete donor vehicle was free...there is not much room in there but it fits.....rear drive shaft needs 2 be shortened, front needs to be lengthened....t-case cross member needs mods....motor mounts need mods....switching from a standard means tranny shifter mods and t-case linkage mods....yeah its a lot of work but I forking love it....anyone else have a 4.3 vortex in their COMANCHE... :huh???: ....no......case close......Lets rock.......Next mods.....Dana 44....
