So that is why I just want to build an MJ that is capable of handling the things that I am going to throw at it.

I wne tover that one just to see if I could... I iwish I could find the pics of that one after I tubed the rear... It was awesome. I learned someting :eek: You can run you engine on its side when it is leaning towards the driver, but when you do it towards the passenger it loses oil pressure :hmm:

 

I was just combating your statement that anywhere in VA can be done in a stock Rubi with 31's

Get a non disco D30 out of an '86 XJ with the fulltime case- instant 4.10s in most cases. The 2.8 leaks enough oil that rust insn't an issue. ;) Then swap everything from the knuckles out from your rig. (Now is a good time for new ball joints, BTW) Swap in a LockRight or Aussie, pocket the $300-$400 you save and call it done.

I have been looking and I can't find one from an 86 that is worth using. I found one with 3.73 and I found several that had the covers removed and were sitting in the mud.

 

It is not as easy as one would like to think to find one...

I don't know about 2.5 4wd's, but my 2wd I'm converting had a 2.5 and came with 3:55's. 8)

maybe they were :chillin: instead of buildin jeeps, and put the 4.0 axle under the 2.5? jeep did some weird stuff. :thwak:
