jeep_freek88 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Ok I found a 1989 comanche 4x4 4.0 5speed on craigslist for $300. 150,000 mi the steering colum has been removed , but everything els is there. I don't have pictures yet, but the guy is going to email me some. I don't know what tranny is in it, but I asked him to send me a pic of the tranny... the rig is 3 1/2 hours away so yea What do you think? Ill keep you posted on the pics. peace :wavey:
JBender Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Does he have a clean and clear title? Mileage? How long has the truck been sitting since it last ran? Are the tires flatspotted? Assuming you can tow it back yourself, you could at least have a good parts truck for $300. The only way I'd pass on it is if the body is completely rotted with rust and the drivetrain is trashed, in which case it may be more trouble than it's worth to go that far.

JeepcoMJ Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 it's possibly an ax15, but more likely to be a ba10/5
dfreeman616 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 it's possibly an ax15, but more likely to be a ba10/5 :agree: 89 was a cross-over year for 5-speeds. i've seen both in them.

DirtyComanche Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 NO TITLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What should I do????/ :???: Can anyone run a vin # to see if it was stolen? advise please :dunno: Carfax? Here you can just take a VIN number to the insurance office and have them run it for $10.
maddzz1 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 NO TITLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What should I do????/ :???: Can anyone run a vin # to see if it was stolen? advise please :dunno: Register it in Rhode Island, you don't need a title.
MrSimon Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Make some calls and see if you can apply for a list title. If you can't get the title, I'd still buy it. At the least, you could resell it for a profit
