The THC can be extracted and taken orally eliminating almost all the side effects. THC capsules should be made legal to sell as a prescription. It has many worthwhile medical uses.

Is THC the ingredient that makes you so hungry that you'll eat 90% of the contents in a garbage dumpster? If so, I vote no for THC. It will just add to the problem now w. fat, overweight, and lazy youngsters we have now. Not that I've ever done any weed lately, but that used to be one of the measuring sticks for good sheite or bad sheite.

One big problem is that much of the conventional wisdom, both pro and con, about pot use is anecdotal; rigorous scientific studies have been hard to come by and are often agenda-driven. But here's a recent article from the Sacramento Bee, after The Governator suggested we look into legalization:

Why not? Cali is dying economically and it would fit right in w. the lifestyle. Might as well let the state reap some of the bene's unless it ends up in some politico's pocket, which it prolly will. 8)

so with this argument, lets legalize prostitution and tax it, that can generate revenue, lets bring more casinos cuz they bring more revenue. btw, casinos is how chicago keeps trying make more money, and they can't argue the crime, theft, drugs, prostitution and so on is rediculously hi in those areas.

do we have no morals anymore?

Apparently I don't, because I see no reason why prostitution and gambling could not be legalized and regulated in a way that inflicts far less cost and damage to society than the current prohibitionist schemes. Much of the crime associated with those pursuits is a direct result of their criminal status. Do they have the same levels and types of crime in the areas immediately around the legal Nevada bordellos?

And as to pot, in view of the research summary noted above, and my libertarian views, it always strikes me as hypocritical that those who favor continued harsh criminalization of pot are not out fighting to also criminalize alcohol and tobacco use. But I guess that's just my lack of morals showing again.

now why do you have to have such a bad opinion about those sweet girls at Madam Orr's House?

bonus points to whoever can tell me what that references.

I said with a prescription. It should have age restictions and be regulated like strong pain pills are.

It could replace drugs that have more side effects and could have a appetite suppressant added to it.

It also increases how other drugs like valium work so it could allow me to take less valium. It would also work great for the headaches I get from the two upper cervical disc(C1 &C2) that are degenerated that they won't do surgury on because they are too close to the brain stem.

It would also allow me to reduce my prescriptions I take so my liver could have less to process.

I'm all for making prescription bud legal to those who would benefit from it due to their medical conditions. :chillin:

about this topic: there's a few thoughtful people on here - but only a few. legal drugs (alcohol and tobacco) have killed millions. pots killed zero. it's totally god-given and has numerous health benifits.

the liquor store on the corner is the drug house we should be wary of.

then again, maybe ignorance is bliss.

X2

I basically don't drink, I stopped 21 years ago. I have a drink on the day my stepdad passed. That would be a triple of Wild Turkey 101 and some brandy slush in the summer.

Alcohol has taken 5 people out of this world I was close to. I haven't lost any to pot.

I recently got a family member back from pot. My cousin was forced to go 6 months pot-free to get off his pot-parole and says the break has freed him from the dang stuff. The way he talks about it, you'd swear he was a recovering alcoholic. Y'all can talk all you want about pot "not killing anyone", but just from my own personal observation it can steal peoples' lives from them. I know plenty of pot-partakers and most of them have lives that are just stalled. I can understand liking a buzz, but every freaking day? :ack:

Also, just because alcohol may be worse does not logically mean that the lesser of the 2 should also be allowed. Medicinal pot on the other hand, well, that's a different story. I'm all for exploring what every chemical on this earth can do to help out society.

Well Tim, I feel your pain, (no pun intended). Back in 04 I had a cervical C2 and C3 fusion because of disk derioration. Worked well until about two months ago when the left shoulder pain returned. Last week I went in for an MRI; arthritis calcium deposits have grown up on the lower plate fusion. Friday went in for a steroid spinal injection, hasn't helped so far, they say it takes about four days to kick in. This sucks. Using mild pain killers and beer. Temp help. If the steroid shot doesn't work, it's back to more disk surgery. DAMN! Legal weed if it helped would be better than beer I'm sure.............

I just want to be able to replace paper and cotton, reduce imports, reduce pesticides used on cotton, protect the land its grown on from soil erosion, protect our water sheds from chemical run off from pesticides and fertilizer, give farmers another means of cash revenue, provide healthier oils to cook with, provide a suitable medium for the production of Biodiesel, provide Americans with strong fabrics, provide the world with fibers that softer and stronger then cotton, and provide the world with a better environment...
