xjcrazy09 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Alright, I know I have seen the topic on here somewhere but can not quite locate it. I was wondering how difficult is it to adapt 98+ doors on to my 87 Comanche? I have a guy going to sell me some doors for $40, wondering if it would be worth it.
cracker Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Yeah it is worth it for $40 Out here they cost $120 at the yard if you find them (good luck) Make sure you grab the striker as you'll need it (from what I hear).
ocskipper Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10459 That link should give you everything you need and I believe there is even one more write up on it in the DIY section. The entire conversion is very easy, I am just waiting around for a deal like you founf to pick up all the parts and make it happen. -Skip :USAflag:
xjcrazy09 Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Thanks for all the advice, but Just to let you know that link definitely takes me to a write up on a front end conversion, and is not even completed. From what I can tell I will just have to relocate the strikers a little bit. Which stickers are you referring to?

johnnyc Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Wow, I got my first set of 97+ doors for $22.50 each at the yard. Then the ones that are now on my MJ were $50 each.

pug Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Does anybody have any pictures how they installed strikers.
jbhill Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 i drilled the 4 welds out holding the factory backing plate, as mine had to be scooted in more past the factory big hole.
Deleted user Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 alright before everyone jumps onme I'm new to jeeps what is the donor vehicle? :dunce: and can someone post up some pics of the finished project please
shelbyluvv Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 A donor is a vehicle used for parts. I bought a 97 Cherokee to use as a donor for my build. Look for the "Another new guy" thread in the Projects forum. Johnnyc has done the door mod and so has JBhill.
