motorr50 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Has anyone pulled the bed off there Comanche, any old how to threads I can look at for help removing my six foot bed? I cleaned out the garage and have a good amount of room to place that puppy right in the center with lots of room on all four sides.
robfg67 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 There are a total of 8 bolts that hold the bed down. You will also need to remove the gas tank & emergency brake bracket. I did this recently and I needed to use PB Blaster, heat the bolts with a propane tank & use an air wrench to remove the bolts. Here are a couple links: viewtopic.php?t=8287&highlight=bed http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1988

mvusse Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Neah, just a long extension pipe on your breaker bar. The only bolts (or bolt like things) I have broken so far are brake lines where they were rusted to the flair nuts. Even with 21 years of Ohio rust I have managed to loosen every bolt or nut so far without breaking. I did recently snap a wheel stud when TIGHTENING a lug nut. That was with my breaker bar and short extension pipe.

jtdesigns Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Yeah that works if you have the room to swing it... :shake:
