Whats in our V.I.N. #?

I was just wondering whats in the vin#?

Like buid dates, engine size, color, build #, etc...

No,yes,no.

Country of origin,build plant,make,model,body style,engine,year,

build sequence,emmission qualification...

that's all I can think of,might be more.

Both BLHTAZ and I work for dealerships,we can

usually decode a vin and tell you lots of stuff,as in

paint code,trim,options,etc.

At least for 1990 and newer vehicles.

Older than that,sometimes yes,sometimes no.

Can try yours if you either wanna post or pm it to

It says 87+, is my 86 the same?

If so can you send me the digram?

I'm not sure, I only have the FSM for 87-90. I'd look at the ID plate on the door jamb for the letter codes to see if they match. Gimmie an e-mail addy and I'll fwd it to ya.
