urbanMJ
This is my first project car, as well as my first pickup and jeep. All I can say now is that I am hooked, and 100% a jeep guy. I'm seriously considering a trail rig after everything I've seen: a TJ maybe. But for now, the MJ is the street jeep. I met some guys at work today who are jeep aficionados. They claim that the MJ is NOT a real JEEP because: -it's a damn pickup -it's not a 'vert -not a wrangler My counter argument: -it's got the same axles -same motors -signature grille -and offroad prowess (in 4wd form) Well, help me with the argument! Bounty Hunter
Tell them I said you're right And this is coming from a YJ & MJ owner.
DirtyComanche
Let's look at this question differently: Does it come with crappy axles stock? - Yes Lack of creature comforts? - Yes Will it cost you a fortune? - Yes Is it unreliable? - Yes Are you still obsessed? - Yes Therefor, a MJ is a jeep. pingpong
Just ask the wrangler owners how much gear they can carry :brows: Then show them your registration, if you are lucky you have one that says AMC, but if not it says jeep on it all the same. Then tell them they can follow me anytime they want on a trail ride, but I can gaurantee one thing... They won't think of a MJ the same after that
rejeep
If it was designed by AMC its a Jeep! Anything else is up for argument. :D

87manche
mine says AMC :) And yes it's a Jeep. Ask them how they like those wranglers when they're staring at a near vertical hill climb. Wheelbase is cool :)
Dadinator
Some people are just stupid. . . It cracks me up how narrow minded some people are. :headpop: YJ's aren't jeeps because they have square headlights. TJ's aren't jeeps because they have too many creature comforts and coil springs. Liberty's are not jeeps because they have Independent front axles. MJ's aren't jeeps because they are pickups. and on and on. My book says all are jeeps. Jeep is a manufacturer. Some of them I've liked and others not, but; they are all jeeps. All fine vehicles that do exactly what they were intended for. :wall:
