  1. Already bought one for anyone who reads this.
  2. so that uni chip works pretty good huh, hmm. might have to get that after i do that 4.7 stroker kit ive been wanting from hesco. LOL too bad that JET one i got is kinda stuck on there pretty well.
  3. i have a JET stage 2. They say it adds 25% HP and like 10 ftlb of torque. Not completely true. I'm thinking more along the lines of 10-15hp and 5-10 ftlb of torque if your lucky. But hey you would have to see dyno numbers. I got a 4.0 HO 135000 k&n intake, aftermarket header, and header back exhaust. Seat of pants theres a little bit more there but i don't know if its worth it to you. like $260 from summit racing. Hope that helps.
  4. Well see when it did this to me a few years ago, and all the plastic melted around the connections. Maybe something vibrated loose and now the power from the battery is giving power to the lights when the key is on. Luckily i got a spare switch because all i did when it melted was sand the plastic off the connections, and ordered another switch for no reason and now it found its reason. But do they sell wiring harnesses online or am i about to go junkyarding. Are the switches different because i got a 92' switch because of the engine swap, and dashboard swap. Can i only look for 92' wiring harnesses?
  5. yeah my AC sucks I'm gonna do a retro kit to it. Believe it or not hawaii isnt exactly 70 degrees, add some humidity and direct sunlight and no wind on some days and I'm sweating like I'm back in traffic in vegas :ack: .
  6. Ok so ive had the switch get hot a few years back. Shorted out and the lights wouldnt come on. Got in there and the whole connections plastic was melted. Now i went to town to pick up my little bro and i had a few hours to wait. So i started messing with it just to pull the button out. I moved it a little and started yanking on it cuz it wouldnt budge. Then the radio came on(note the truck was off, keys on my belt loop). So i think its the switch or connections. Is there a place that sells a new harness or just JY. I'm gonna tear it apart tomorrow. Gotta put new bulbs in headlights anyway cuz mine are too blue to pass hawaii inspection. so might as well try tackle some other electrical. Good luck with those lights 1974cj5. You gotta luv electrical :rotfl2:
  7. Like 88 said. You can probly put anything you want in the cab, just gonna take a little fab work.
  8. like i said in another post pete always there for the info save.
  9. Man i had that happen if its making noise jump on it now. Luckily when mine happend the belt just twisted around the fan and the bolt flew on top of my AC unit. LOL the pulley went rolling down the street. A fragment of the dust shield got caught in a bearing and the rest is history.
  10. :agree: Early 90's cherokees and comanches have the non vac.
  11. put the truck on jacks and spin the shafts, that should expose the zerk/zirk (don't know how its spelt) fittings.
  12. Oh ok i don't got one of those, i got a 92 axle. There i go with the terms again. Select trac command trac man all these terms ahhhhhhhhhhhh :headpop: Just kidding i never did any research into them i just assumed. But at least you got people like pete and eagle to correct me
  13. Ok just went to go jump some guy and i noticed my parking lights were on. i didnt pull the switch and there was power going to them. Could the switch be the culprit, i looked at the wiring diagram on the site and i saw how it works and maybe its shorted to give power to the lights? Any ideas???? I really don't care if you say yes to my idea just give me something so i will have a reason to tear apart the truck tomorrow instead of chasing nothing.
  14. Pete sums it up in a nut shell once again.
  15. well i think the command trac came with the np242. Np231 i thought was the run of the mill transfercase. But its a part time t case. Could be a vacuum line leak like eagle said. I would look at that too as long as your under there. what is CAD?
  16. :agree: with eagle An easy way to see if its in 4wd, go out on the street and engage it and turn your wheels and drive a little bit. If you feel the tires bite and grab the pavement. you will know if it is it will behave completely different, i call it walking but it will feel like the truck is pulling. Believe me you will know. don't do it for long though, chance to break something. i didnt find out i had the light till i yanked it into 4wd furiously after breaking a rear end burning out.
  17. I don't know if its my seats or what but when i sit strait up I'm only like a few inches from the roof. And I'm about 5'7-5'8. Ive had people nail there head on the side of the cab trying to get in. If any thing can't you take the skinz off. Mine are tan, so they go great with my black, stock maroon door panels, grey dash, and mini console, LOL.
  18. LOL thats what i got, and there out of a 4 door. Definitely STAY AWAY from them they SUCK!!! :ack: I definitely want some new 2 door ones with out the curved stuff.
  19. Thats pretty nifty.
  20. Yeah i was almost tempted to ask you about that scoop on your hood. I like it, but i think the cowl is the style I'm looking for and it will cool it when on the trail. And once i hook my aux fan to a switch it will push all that air to the back and out the hood. So i asume.
  21. Oh yeah a thermostat controller i guess, yeah now i know. The whole thermistor thing threw me off. I wanted to do that at first. Convert to an electric fan with one of those so i can set it when to come on. But i finally figured out how to turn the aux fan to a switch. here's the link tell me what you think. http://www.projectxj.com/mods/stocker/fan.switch.htm My cousin did the same to his truck but he never had AC. I do and i don't know if i do that will the AC relay still kick the fan on when i turn on the AC or defrost. Or will i have to do that manually. May sound like a pansy wanting my AC but i want to drive it to my 4x4 spots, or camping, and its my DD.
  22. see metrics...... I got it when it was in a magazine in front of me but once i left the table i forgot. LOL metrics
  23. Ok didnt feel like working on the jeep today, its sunday, its raining I'm feeling lazy. Anyway a little sunshine came out and i decided to go wash the truck, get all the sea salt off and stuff. But when i was done and went to the dump to drop of trash, i noticed that the tail lights were on. Checked to see if i pulled the lights on and nope i didnt........could i have shorted a wire washing it? Is this that ghosting thing you all were talking about? Or is it time to get new bulbs and new connectors, and if so where can i get the connectors? Or time to check some grounds? Electrical aw you gotta luv it :fs1: :wall: :grrrr: :headpop: :help:
  24. Well there you go the tire guide right there. I still don't understand how they measure the dang things.
  25. Who says that? 265 should be around 31's. I swear i got a 1.5" on my truck(dad put it on sure he would know) but i got 31x10.5 on a 15x8 rim and they only rub under alot of articulation, mostly the rear for some reason. Look up tire charts, I'm sure the last time i checked it was 265 that was around a 31. 285 is 33 and 305 is 35. But hey that was last year maybe they changed measurements.
