What is por 15, where can i get it?
-
I got an 86' that my dad bought new of the lot in hawaii. It has been back and forth to the states almost 7 times. It was originally a 4banger 5spd, but now its a 92' 4.0L with an AW4.Right now its just got the lift my dad put on, some bfg mud terrains, rims, banks header, custom header back exhaust (center outlet like and SRT8 cherokee), hollowed cat, its chipped and got a k&n air filter, and i chromed out almost everything doorhandles, grill, bezels, all i need is the window trim. I have alot planned for it but its gonna be a slow build because I'm currently a student at a college. Image Not Found Plans: To much to list but here's the basics. TNT long arm kit 7.5" of lift, probly RE springs and such New JK rubicon axles front and rear( when i hit the lotto) JK rubicon 5 spokes, or those AEV wheels Definitely new rear bumper for that custom exhaust Convert auto to NV 3550 manual 4.7L stroker kit from hesco This will all happen over time, but i basically want it to have this stance. is a canard really a duck?

you want to see and hear a comanche with a stack, go to youtube and look it up. Some guy did it, you don't get a good look at it but it sounds kinda cool.

Removing the Front Valence???

Thats kinda weird, so my truck had a skid plate package and the off highway package. Aw i feel special. :clapping: Ive looked at quadratec and other websites, i would suggest maybe 4 wheel parts or another shop like that near you. I aint gettn them till i get my lift and tires, kinda far down the road. -
I don't see why not, they look completely the same. Just keep your hardware and stuff from your front door just in case. The chrome handles look great on the comanches, did it to mine and i love it.

oh yeah i knew that that dodge might take over a titan truck kinda build, i think it was gonna have the hemi too. And in exchange chrysler got a small car for southamerica production. Last i heard was a gm chrysler merge for finances just to stay afloat might have been in the future. This is new news to me if nissan wants chrysler.
-
i wouldnt be surprised, i got alot of friends i go wheeling with down here and they got yotas, they are great little trucks. But my main concern was that statement about toyota chrysler merge, that aint real right?

I think its up to you. I did the same thing and I'm running basicly what you got 1.5" except with 31x10s. Image Not Found Cut my fenders hella dumb though. Gonna get bushwackers anyway so don't care. Its your choice though, i find it purely cosmetic. It would help keep the wind drag kinda down, but if you plan on lifting it and throwing a set of 33's under it like i do then just cut it off, once you get that high I'm sure the air dam/spoiler doesnt help much. Your preference basically. -
that yota is a solid conversion, the dang front driveshaft aint even hooked up. It came in on a flat bed to a dang car show. They are respectable wheelers, but when they are a everywhere, don't touch the dirt, and are basic road toads with money dumped in it just for the style and look, it gets old real fast over on the islands and you lose alot of respect for them.

mechanics in hawaii probly barely know how to read, they scratch their head when you go to checkers asking if they have H4 bulbs...... ill take a pic when it stops raining, grounds kinda soaking wet.
-
ok ill go take a pic of it when i get a chance. But its not a strap per say its just something that holds a u joint and it helps the joint articulate and spin at the same time. Its suppose to be there, why would i take it apart and then put something in that wasnt there before. And my bad if i spell it wrong, i knew it had those letters in it though. Not a drive shaft literature expert.

88 Comanche going to 3.2L turbo diesel
702_MJ replied to justinquilliam's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Diesel comanche, right on. Where do you guys get your trucks from, back east? Ive seen comanches on this forum with so much rust its unbelievable! -
So the strap thing thats in the middle is called a double cardan shaft? i know it needs to be rebalanced, it bottomed out on the dang head pipe way to many times, looks like a weight got shaved off. It was just a temporary fix, i heard this squeeking one day and i thought it was the brakes. so i did those but it wasnt that so i tracked it down to the shaft, replaced the u joints and it went away. It was just to get me to cali and on a boat to hawaii who knows how much it would cost to ship a drive shaft! Now that I'm here i want to fix it, just gotta find a decent shop to rebalance it. Hawaii sux for autoshops

Whoa whoa whoa, toyota merge? i need to watch the news more! These will never compare to a jeep! Image Not Found These things are like cockroaches in hawaii, EVERYWHERE. And they all think they are cool with their balloons for tires and IFS, and little 4 bangers that scream to push those tires and can't keep up with a tired 4.0L its very sad really.

my dad put rhino liner on my truck before he gave it to me. i think that was almost 10yrs ago. But it faded gray and now it started to peal right around the inside edge where the lip of the bed. Its been through some rough times though, moving rock, camping, tools, etc. Its supposed to out last your truck, so far the truck is outlasting it. But they say they got a lifetime warranty. one of these days ill put that warranty to the test. Then my dad put line ex liner in his cummins diesel. To me the line ex seemed rougher. and as pioneer 4x4 said rhino lining is thicker. But it was glossier and looks nice, course its only like 6 months old. Basically its whatever you feel, i would go with price.

ok i replaced my u joints a few months ago. and in the double canard joint theres that strap that flexes inside, and there was needle bearings inside. A few fell out but i put it back together, probly a dumb idea, but do they sell new strap things in the canard joint. I hope you guys know what I'm talking about.
-
Looks great! I got an 86' custom as well. Chromed out almost everything. Just need the windshield trimming now. Chrome may not get you home, but it sure does look nice. And the ladies like it too, LOL. Have fun with your build! And keep those pics comin
-
i didnt even consider that an idea, but i like the foot cable. lets you know its a truck not a car.
-
Found a guy thats willing to sell me his assembly. wranglercory, he wants to do that exact conversion i guess. Any benefits or just buy your hand not your foot?
-
At least I'm not the only one who hates them! There all just road toads. If you look at that pic its front drive shaft aint on either.
-
Thanks. Ill add that to my TO DO LIST.

I mean make it myself, how much was the material? I have a center exhaust like an SRT8 Cherokee. I designed a bumper just like that except its taller i guess you would say. Same design, 2" reciever, D ring brackets and everything but mine is kinda cut in center like the SRT8 to make it look clean you know. So just imagine that bumper but instead of being 5" i wanted like 8" so i can cut the section out. But seeing this bumper kinda gives me a better idea. And the write helps even more.
