  4. thats the black insulation somebody ripped out. well whats left anyway. two phillips screws on the inside and a ten? mm bolt in the engine compartment. about 3/4 down and in the middle of the fuse box. i had to drill a hole in the fender to get access to it. is the pic showing the rust under the windshield where the wiper motor is. the other side ?
  5. first over all they are coilovers, two springs per coilover, res shocks, leaf springs , bump stops and related hardware. :clapping: i was a lowrider when i was a teenager, does that count?

  8. i just totaled the cost for my f-o-a setup. $1340.00 then another $550.00 for the leafs. can anybody help by sending me money??????????????????????? :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: i'm poor but likeable!
  9. i got hold of a guy i crew for with a buggy at different races. i asked him the same questions. he said the only thing he can figure is you need approximately 6" for the can up and 4" for the shaft when its up. so he thinks its a space issue for most cans that are mounted down. also, it depends with gas or hydraulic how the stock is designed. a very few gas are designed for the can to be down. at the races he has seen some trucks with the shock can down but he doesn't know why. most are up. hope this helps!

  11. it could be your life if you drive it!
  12. i just called shane at bilstein tech because i couldn't remember why i mounted them up. you are correct you can mount them either way. however, they recommend you mount them can up to keep the can out of the dirt, as much as possible. there are some circumstances where they would recommend them down. but that's few and far between. for our purpose, jeep, mounting up is correct. also, on any race vehicle, dirt, i have never seen them mounted down.

  14. can up :smart: i have 5150.
  15. the difference in price translates to more mpg, usually two to up to 10 miles per gallon. difference depends on vehicle. here in oregon its only 25 or 35 cents difference. the other factors mean IT AIN'T WORTH IT!
  16. :agree:
  17. i know with rewiring my truck, i had a general plan that changed a lot. better information makes for better job. i draw from the vehicles i saw in tech in baja, when i roadraced, my hotrod days, and from looking at your rigs and deciding what i wanted to end up with. i try an do that. the end result of my build will be all that. :hijack: un :hijack:
  18. i just finished reading that build thread. sometimes you can't figure it all out before hand, but, its like jumping off a cliff without a plan. you might live but at what cost. i keep being reminded there are all kinds of people out there. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
