This link has a few good parts catologs and other stuff that may be of some help. http://www.xjjeeps.com/tech_reference.a ... ion=2&ID=0

Oops, I thought everyone new about the mis-spelled versions like commanche, camanche, comanchee, oh crap did I do it again? :P I had watched the club to see if anyone brought it up and decided at the last minute I would throw one bid in just to see if I would get lucky. :brows: Don't know but it looks interesting. What's on the other side?

Well the one I got wasn't near as much as the one earlier in this thread. I got mine for $20. The story behind these coins is that they were given to the factory workers the day they released the Comanche, which is the date on the coin. These were never released to the general public for sale, so the only way to get one is if someone wants to part with it. They end up on ebay from time to time. The one I got was listed under the mis-spelled version of the MJ, "Commanche" which is why I think I was able to get it cheaper.

Great find. Will be very useful. -
Dug up this thread because of what the mailman brought me today :D Got to love ebay.

I had a problem like this that took me about 45 minutes to figure out that I had turn the pull knob for the lights and dimmed them out. :dunce: Since you said you checked the switch, I'm assuming you checked that too. Could be the connection on the back of the instrument panel is not seated all the way.

Here's my .02's. When I was shopping for the lift kit for the TJ, I did a lot of researching on all the forums, magazines, and what not. In the end it seemed like the general consences was to go RE. I could have bought cheaper but I think the quality out weighed that. I also tried piecing one together but by the time you got what you wanted, it came out just the same if not more for the price. I went with the 4.5 super flex kit and swapped the springs for the 3.5's. In the end they really netted me more like 4 inches if not a little more. With 33's and the lift I got easly over 5 inches if not 6. I have people come up to me all the time asking if it has a 6 inch lift. From talking with others RE coils always give you more then they say they are. Overall I'm very happy with RE and since mine is more of a DD, it is great on the road. At the time I purchased it, this was the cheapest place I found on the net. http://www.redrock4x4.com/ You may find the kit cheaper by a few bucks, but the free shipping is what made them lower than others. Plus I'm sure if you contact them, they will put together a kit for the mj.

I don't think those lights are going to be very useful like that. J/K :D It looks good. I like the crome look but my son would rather have the all black look for his mj. To each his own I guess.

You manage to find all the cool stuff.

I found that if you take the tranny cross member out, hoist the engine, and then let the tranny hang down, the fluid comes out pretty good. :teehee:

When I pulled mine out that's exactly what it was, and man did it smell. I even had the truck in the garage for over a month and a half and it was still wet. I would say it's the prime cause of the rust in my floor pan.

Unless someone changed out your hubs, it will be 5 on 4.5

:agree: I'm in the process of swapping a/c into mine. It just doesn't make since to not replace those things that may be a problem later. Since I have everything apart already, it should be easy. :brows:

Send it to me and I'll invest it for ya. :brows: J/K, save it for college.

Maggie - 89 Comanche (6.25" Lift on page 3)

I just did mine this past week the same way. It only took burning my fingers a couple of times before I had that technique down :brows: -

Was looking for one of those awhile back. I would of taken that off your hands for that price. :brows: I plan on doing a spray in liner as well but thought the mat would come in handy if you had to put something in the bed that you didn't want the rough surface of the spray in liner to scratch. Just throw the mat in, haul your stuff, then put the mat back in the garage. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky. By the way Nice MJ and good luck with the build. -
I also thought about putting brackets behind although I recently put a besttop tire carrier on my TJ that put brackets behind the mounts and the tub has still bent a little. Maybe I goofed something up when installing but I can see from that install it needs to be a solid bracket welded to the frame if possible, so there is no play. Even though I've been thinking about the rear tire carrier, the orginal plan we had for the MJ was a custom rollbar with a tire carrier towards the rear of the bed. Something close to Pete's setup. :brows:

JeepcoMJ; I forgot to mention the one I'm sending you has the factory tweeters still attached. Don't know if they work, but they look in good shape. :D DansGreyMj; For my MJ project I'm planning on putting a set in where the b pillar lights are. Will be putting in an overhead lighting system that will work better. Will just have to fab up a mount and grille for the tweeters. Shouldn't be to hard.

Well played around with the idea in phototshop. Maybe it would be better with a S10 blazer carrier. Not sure if I like the idea as much now. :dunno:

Everytime I'm at the JY I see tire carriers on different makes of vehicles and wonder if they could be made to work on an MJ. The one that looks like a good swap IMO is one off an Isuzu Rodeo. I figure it would hook to the top and bottom of the back of the bed beside the tailgate and would swing out to let the tailgate go down. The locking latch would be mounted on the tailgate. Just not sure how it would look though.

Why not, duct tape is pretty useful. :D That will cost extra to ship. :redX:

I did think about that as well as if the driver came out and saw me reaching over his hood with the wiper blade in my hand. Even though friendly intentions I would probably freak out at first seeing that. I placed the magnet very gently and really only half was touching any metal however your probably right about the paint thing though so next time it's the wiper. :D

While at the JY yesterday I saw an MJ in the parking lot. Pretty nice looking and maybe a future club member if not already. Tagged him with a magnet (thanks Pete) just above the door handle. :D

I'm going to jack my own thread but this is to funny. When cleaning the seats up I notice alot of long hair on the upper part of the seats so I figured a woman had owned it, however when I flipped the seat over to clean the bottom side of the seat, there was a un-used condom duct taped to the bracket. :rotfl2: Only a guy would do something like that. :brows:

I've got six of those and all but one have the little springy plastic retaining tabs broke off.
