  1. booster is the same. remove the abs control box extend/replace the brake lines to the proper locations on the proportioning valve.
  2. I would remove the month and year so it is cheaper to produce...then you could order in one go and have then handy each month. I will donate to the fund if you would like to do it that way
  3. jack up. remove rear wheels. place jack stands under rear uniframe rails, just in front of front leaf spring mounts. lower, letting axle droop remove u-bolts (all of them) replace u-bolts (all of them) torque u-bolts down. u-bolt torquing should be done kiddy corner to kiddy corner on each side. i.e. do driver's front outer u-bolt front down to "tight" then driver's rear inner down to "tight", then driver's rear outer, then passenger front inner. continue this sequence until the u-bolt is tight, THEN torque using the same sequence. then move onto the passenger side, repeating the sequence. you will need 5 ton jack stands, or a tall jack stand of some sort. do not use cinder blocks. you will also need a jack stand under the pinion to keep it from tilting down. I use this for SOA and SUA, and have never had an issue. i've asked several reputable mechanics how they do it, and this is how they do it...my grandfather and my father have also done it this way every time they've needed to.
  4. you're not being realistic about costs. good luck.
  5. I'm pretty excited to see this thing get done.

    Yay finally!

Are you calling me a moran? Why would you be pretty sure you were joking? posted from cell phone. damn you auto correct!
  7. what is an "MT" harness? if it's metric ton, then it sure as hell isn't anything newer than '92.

    Yay finally!

Eh. My evo had so many glitches that it's hard to be happy with it. the only good thing about it is that it had internet and is touch screen. I'm with you guys on the alarms...that's all screwy on this pos. I still think anyone who stays up to switch their clocks on dst is either anal retentive our just plain dumb, though. C' mon...seriously?
  9. Again, Thanks David for taking the time to follow up on this.... I was wrong, though it's a '95 production date, it's a '96 model year...David is helping me out quite a bit by taking the time to look it up (again) in order to find the proper wiring diagram. lesson learned...don't go by the production date!
  10. capital letter...sorry couldn't resist. I spell in Old English :P
  11. bull sh*t. if you can't spell well 90% of the time, I don't like you. it's not hard. I can spell fine. this is 100% un-spell-checked, and It's proper grammar, proper spelling...the only thing I don't care about is starting a sentence with a capitol letter. that doesn't bother me, and it never will. but when I can't decipher what the hell someone is trying to say based purely off of the fact that they are too lazy to spell check...there's an issue. above that, I don't even concede the point to people with hearing impediments. they've read books...it is their sole universal means of communication. there is ZERO acceptable reason for someone with an audio disability to be a poor speller. -Pat

    Yay finally!

Then my clocks are all off. Lol only until morning. And then there's massive confusion untill the clocks get changed.   or the massive confusion as to why you're still awake at 2am when it becomes 3am...

  14. i'm sorry to hear that :( but glad you will recover. I wish you luck, and the best of health. it seems like this is common lately...health issues, I mean. my younger brother has got a fair amount of his own to worry about...

    Yay finally!

don't know why you'd have to do that. just change the clock the night before.
  16. what specific buick v6 are you talking about? there are many different buick v6's. but I can tell you that that won't fit any buick v6 that is newer than 1996, and probably the series 1 buick 3800 won't work with it. those all use a gm 60 degree bellhousing pattern...which that is not. if you're talking the older era 3800, it *may* fit that...but i don't know what you have that you'd be spending the time on with it. that looks like it bolts to a T series transmission, though.
  17. I'll take as much as I can get when it comes to a hitch. the more tie-ins, the better. Rob and I bought a '91 mj that was set up for towing a heavy boat...hitch spread the weight all the way dead center above the axle. unfortunately the truck had to be scrapped by a certain day, it was cold, and I didn't have the time to get the hitch off...:(
  18. i'd use that one last mount forward of the top 3...spread that plate's footprint out to limit stress when towing.
  19. ya think? i was going to make the next ones thinner. just razzin ya. told ya the steel you were using was too thin before you even made them.
  20. anyone have things they want to sell? I've got a few jeep buddies by me who have only a handful of things to sell, I have some things, as well. wondering if anyone would want to pitch in on a vendor's spot to toss up some parts to sell. may pay your trip there. -Pat
  21. Enough people have had issues with the fit of RK drop brackets that I wouldn't but any of their products. And the issue with the trans pan is the width of the cross member. Its already tough to do with a stock cross member. Not impossible, but more things in the way. Point is, its a poor design if you have to drop the axle to work on the trans too edit: fixed wording/grammar...stupid auto correct on cell phone.
  22. plenty of hassle when you're doing a trail repair such as removing the trans pan to replace the filter after you sink the truck. no way. those are all crappy designed crossmembers. they're nice, but there is ZERO reason you should have to drop the front axle just to work on the transmission.
  23. pay attention to the cross members. there is not one other than claytons that will bolt directly to an mj, and claytons is the only one that doesn't require that you remove the entire front axle just to drop the transmission or transfercase.
  24. I can't watch the guy. he strikes me as racist (yes, I'm white, and I'm calling a "minority" a racist), and he just comes across as vile and vulgar. does anyone else get that vibe?
  25. http://claytonoffroad.com/product_info. ... cts_id/110 how about you consider something that's not garbage.
