  1. pretty much, so long as the metal parts aren't chinese cheapos, they will all work with no issues.
  2. i have one pm me if you want it $100 shipped. works, reads right. has light surface rust on the outside but not bad enough to affect sealing or make it leak. includes brand new lock ring and o-ring

    pm automan.
  4. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thule-870XT-32-inch-wind-fairing-deflector-bike-or-ski-roof-rack-/121092496982?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c31acde56 P.O. assembled that backwards. easy fix to make it right, and bonus it will look new when adjusted properly. cheap.
  5. hmm
  6. search on ebay though for the correct kit for your MJ or XJ 4.0 for the proper year your parts are going into/came out of. that kit is for a 99 wj, and they can be had cheaper if you search.
  7. it will have all the gaskets. If you want rings and all, I recently installed one of the kits in the link below for a friend's WJ, awesome high quality kit with zero issues, EVERYTHING you need to rebuild a 4.0, and great customer service....fast shipping, too http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-Premium-Master-Engine-Rebuild-Kit-242-4-0-1999-/300765588830?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AJeep&hash=item460706ad5e&vxp=mtr
  8. pull the ugly top and cab off, put a 66 small window cab on with 90 wagoneer dash and interior, heater, a/c, and a cummins 6bt, and I'd buy it. but not until all of that's done.
  9. yup, thats the one to have. Having owned almost 30 mj's, ,i've never had one with a 2.5/aw4...that was 87 only option, and one I didn't think they ever put in an MJ That trans from pump back is the same as the trans from a 4.0, so if you ever grenade it, you can buy one from a 4.0 powered xj or mj, swap torque converter (well, replace with new) and bell housing, and bolt it up to your 4 cylinder. it's strong, stout, and damn near indestructible
  10. aw4. lucky duck! do the filter kit (comes with gasket), drain it, permatex on the trans and pan, then sandwich the gasket in there.
  11. is it lighter? yes. But there is no issue with space with a 350. on the whole, the biggest issue is radiator clearance...whih 99% of cars have anyways. and at least with a 350, the oil filter isn't as hard to change as something like a jeep liberty or other b.s. like that. Jim, it's a custom swap. may as well make it cool and put a 350 in. a 4.3 is not cool.
  12. yup. aside from ordering specific thickness head gaskets for strokers, I just get my gaskets from the local parts store.
  13. I've never not had enough gaskets in a fel-pro gasket set. the only thing they shunt on is the other 6 injector o-rings.
  14. both. buy the gasket and filter set, then use a suitable sealant on both sides with the gasket sandwiched between Can you grab a pic of your trans? 87 is the only year that could have an aw4 wih a 4 banger
  15. as far as gas mileage, the 4.3 will get the same or worse than a 4.0 the 350 cools darn near the same as a 4.3. put a pusher and puller fan on and be done...
  16. spider injection and the fact that v8's and STRAIGHT 6's and 4's naturally balance.....v6's do not. the crank in a 4.3is counterweighted more in some areas than others to balance it out. not a fan 4.3 won't get the mileage you could get with a 350. power to weight, cost for cost, and economy, you are better off with a 350
  17. i have seen this xj in person, and while the swap part itself is done nice, that is the only value in it....that xj is a ratty pile that needs a bunch of work
  18. been there thought about that. it would work if you wanted custom glass...otherwise it still won't look right.
  19. in no way would the cost of the 4.3 be worth the hassle. you can literally do a 350 swap for the exact same cost. and no offense to anyone with a 4.3, but they don't hold a candle to a 350 in reliability, economy, or overall value. I've seen some with miles, but they cost more than the vehicle's value over their entire lifetime.
  20. yup. So I'm not the only one.
  21. true enough. That said, I've thrown tons of xj/mj stuff out over the last several years, and did so again this last week (97+ xj stuff) because I just don't want to deal with getting people my address and arranging pickup times for parts, waiting for them to waste my time by not showing up on time, etc. That's obviously a whole different ball game with people like you, Correy...or Rob, Jake, the other Jake, Jerry, Pete, Tim, or Wade....I'd make time for all of you guys gladly. But we all know each other well enough to get what needs done done and be done with it with the least haggle possible. maybe a dollar is a dollar. but if i'm not making $50 or more on something, i just won't deal with it anymore.
  22. it's one of those things we were all polite about, and just shook our heads internally. he drove from New York to pick it up. He seems very intelligent, and knows what he's doing. I think it's all about the OEM parts and cool factor
  23. i didn't bother asking lol
  24. someone should photoshop one into an FC style truck
  25. *shrug* maybe he's sick of BS from craigslist idiots.
