  1. Now that is pretty cool! I'm definently a bit jelous ;) :D
  2. Did not know that....thanks for the info!
  3. Still have to clean up the rims, but it came out into the sunlight for the 1st time yesterday! I got the color matched toolbox installed last evening as well :wrench: Just gotta finish up the seats and get it a tag and shes ready for the road then :clapping:
  4. Alright another quest of maybe ridding 1 of you fellas of some stuff around your garage. I'm looking for a set of "wing" style mirrors for the doors. They are exibit B listed below (bottom Left setup) , just the small 1s that attach with 2 screws. Shoot me any offers if you have a set.....thanks!
  5. I'm amazed at how hard to find or how expensive these boogers are! I'm looking for a set of windsheild washer nozzles, these are the small plastic things that sit in the cowl area and connect to the washer line. I know somebodys got a parts truck or an extra cowl laying around. I'm open to offers but paying $15 for a set of these things is rediculous. Anyway Thanks a bunch!
  6. Maybe its time refresh the grounds on the server :D
  7. 1 Gallon of premium outdoor Satain paint, 2 rollers a few foam brushes and went after it! Yep....thats a roll on job, no compressor or spray gun ;) Well except the gold, that was just typical aresol spray paint.
  8. Its all back together again! Pictures tomorrow! :jump:
  9. took off a few tape stripes today, a few spots need some touching up but overall I'm pretty happy with the design.....can't wait to see it all back together :D
  10. After a year+ on "Dads Wood Truck" the paint still looks as great as the day i applied it. That truck sits outside 24/7 in all the elements. That was enough proof for me. Sure you might not get the "new car" shine out of a roll on paint job but its sure more durable than anything besides maybe bedliner  Also very cheap compared to most paint ;)
  11. I decided to jump into this paint project full force this weekend. I got everything taped up Saturday afternoon. Went ahead and sprayed the stripes on 1st, I would make it easyer to tape over them for the paint than to tape them off after paint. Also the overspray would be painted over as well. ;) Late Saturday night I made a trip to Lowes and got all my supplies. After taping over the stripes after a few hours for drying, the 1st coat was applied and the truck began showing signs of new life. Ive gotten 3 full coats applied now (Sunday night) and tomorrow evening the tape will all be removed! I'm anxious to see the end result and am very happy with where it is at this point! Keep checking back!
  12. Looks like a 4cyl pump. Theyll both fit into the sending unit the same ;)
  13. Not a huge Moto GP fan but that was pretty cool!
  14. You can usually get new Lock rings and O rings from any Auto Parts store, chances are it has been tweaked a bit. Remember the XJ (Cherokee) lock rings and o rings are the same as well ;)
  15. Completed the sanding today. Also installed a new cap/rotor and Wires ;) Id noticed the steering was very "easy" to operate and kinda twitchy, Sure enough the old stabilizer could be collapsed with my pinky finger, I had a new Rough Country stabilizer on the shelf i never used so on it went 8) All better. :clapping:
  16. Installed a new TB gasket, that should help the minor stumbling i have at idle. A few new "tune up" items are on the way, and paint isnt far off ;)
  17. For some reason i wanna say June 6th 1992 was when the final MJ laft the line. I know it was early June though ;)
  18. Some major headway this evening in getting this truck prepped for paint. With help from a friend we got the rest of the decals and emblems stripped. Then it was onto some fun with the rotary sander. I got the new(er) grill and headlight bezels straightend out and when tonights work was over, this is what pulled back into the garage ;) Ill probably get my paint and supplies later this week and quite possibly by the end of next week this sucker will have some paint :jump:
  19. I just used a universal plate light and mounted it to a removable reciever mount with the wiring spliced into a trailer harness plug...not the prettiest thing but it works ;)
  20. Nice! thats a RARE package you got there  Take care of it, and we'll be happy to watch your progress. Theyre VERY easy to fall in love with :wrench:
  21. Walker Evans won the 1990 Mickey Thompston Stadium Series championship with Jeep and the Comanche. I believe the program was switched to Dodge Dakotas in 93 but the orgional Comanche setups returned later in the season just with Dakota bodies untill the series was killed off in the mid 90s.
  22. Got alittle more work done this weekend. Got some interior lights installed, thanks to CC member Fezzik  Also removed the toolbox for painting and removed the plastic bedliner just to see what might be hiding underneath... Besides some dirt and mulch, the bed was very clean and rust free :D Got the bed cleaned out and the liner back in. Began getting the stripes off the truck in preperation for paint in the next few weeks.....check back again for more updates
  23. :agree: Its either your CPS or Ballast resistor from the way it sounds.
  24. Idk if any exist still besides the 1 Archer Brothers truck in the Chrysler museum. Id love too see 1 of the old Mickey Thompston Stadium trucks in person but Its very likely all those have vanished :( The pictures are likely the best view youll get of them now a days .
  25. Lets bring this sucker back to life! :peek: Gotta have a "Stone" when workin on the MJ
