  1. I had a 40$ radio shack special and it sucked ,range was literaly bout 40-50 feet , so i bought this cobra at a truck stop in texas on my way to NC and it was a grate investment coulda saved me alota time and money by just doon it right the first time . placement was a little tough / i had the old 1 mounted on the ashtry n it sucked . decided to mount it to the roof but i thought it would get in the way but i bairly even notice there[/img]http://pic60.picturetrail.com/VOL1664/7555959/14323910/216344096.jpg
  2. remember its cast steel , it will crack/break there is no give, a mild steel uca mount will at least bend like crazy befor it breaks
  3. after beating on my 86 manches 2.8 for more than 4.5 years with out an oil change i decided one day to change the oil after finding a very old bottle of motor flush at work, the directions said sometn bout donit cold and not revin it up but thats all i read (i don't follow directions well) so i poured it in and drove it around town and on the hiway beating on it ,an hour later i changed the oil. 2 years later i did the valve cover gaskets and clean as a wistle. i did the covers on my bros old 86 s10 2.8 and it was nasty /no motor flush but the oil was changed religously. his had 160,000 mine had bout 120,000

  10. yes anything would be better than the 2.8 but i can't afford much els. besides i Love the 2.8 ,i didnt change the oil in it fer just over 4.5 years .just added erl when needed for the first year (then i fixed the leak), Iv run it 4 quarts low several times/over heated it a dozen times and kept on goin / hit 6400 rpm probably another dozen times floatn valves and blown smoke and on top of that it lives at 4500 rpm or more on the highway. No B/S
  11. went and picked up the the replacement engin fer the manch on saturday mornin (2.8 s10 blazer rolin chasie) then in the afternoon went to look at the motor and trans that i was getn from a buddy (s10 pickup) and the @#$%ing motor threw a rod on the way their. was a dern shame though /100 miles on the new 700r and the engine pristene , no leaks nothin even wit close to 300,000. but better now than after i put it in the jeep . STUPID 2.8L

  21. I did cut the bottom off the sides of the bed just below the body line because when the bumper got ripped off it mushed the bottom corner as u can see in the side shot under the tail light (the rust spots) . the real b*@$£ of it is i was going to cut it off the week before it got busted but didnt, lazy i guss. it sure helped with the ground clearence issue alot once cut, now i aint gota worry bot that any more.
