  2. built mine with 1.5' pipe and 3/8 plate to the frame , the winch and fairlead is mounted to 1/4 plate

    mpg rant

    When me and my buddy drove out NC to go to school , me in my 75 ramcharger 4in on 33s 3 speed and a verry healthy (thirsty)360 i got 6-8 (on a good day )mpg i didnt complain one bit , my buddy in his 96 dodge wit 6in 35s auto he was getn 12-14 mpg and he cried the entire way ,all 2800 miles i allmost turned and went home. can't stand people that complain bout stuf like that . u drive a truck deal with it!!! :headpop:

  5. well I'm glad I'm wrong 1999MJ , I didnt know there was a reason behind ur madness , iv just seen to many people do some realy random things that ruin the look/functionality of their rig , like most of the rigs i see around hear that piss me off/ thats what i get fer livin in californe . so wile i dig my foot out of my mouth pleas accept my apolage and keep up the good work :thumbsup:

WHAT THE FOCK OVER :mad: never thought id say this (specialy since i layed my , at the time brandnew 05 rubicon unlimited on its side twice ! wheelin with only 2k on the ticker the day i got done detailing it ) but don't put 39 0n that its to nice that should get a nice set of 33s or the like and a nice paint job and be a sweet DD / trail tamer not a glorified show truck with 22in lift and big stupid tires (I'm going to hell for that) that gets pavement pounding duties if its lucky. why don't u just get it over with and put some spinners on it/body kit including a wing and some neon lights under it and call it done. if I'm wrong great then post the picks pleas.!

  8. i dig the the rustys stuff , i got the long arm kit and seams to be beafy, the design is simple which is good, the only problems i had were they couldnt seem to run my dern credit card right 5 times / kept telln me it was no good or over its limit (limit was allmost 8 grand) and it wasnt even close to that. they got that sorted out i got my stuff and every thing is good.
  9. Off subject but , Eagle why don't u want the mounts cut/chopped or other wise mangled , reason i ask is caus i cut/chopped mine to work with the swapped 44 and in the end seemed to be the best way to go , cheap n easy . ;)

First thought was y ? second thought was y hasnt anybody done this yet . i love my bench but dream of buckets but thats all it is .... a dream (for now). thats in an mj though / in a cheroke a bench sounds perfect makes me think of grown up riden in the 70s-80s chevy pickups / burbens . makes me want to go buy a cheroke just to do that

Well keeping the stock 2.8 is out of course / i do like the idea of the 3.4 swap caus then i can get the edelbrock intake and headers iv been drooln over fer a long time , keep the 5 speed and save some time n money but that means i have to keep the crappy carb. i know webber has their carb fer it but its not smog legal . the 3.8 is out / cool idea though swapn in the 4.3 is probably the best thing to do but since i lack in time these days it might not be the best thing , i just like to chew on many ideas befor desiding so as not to regret it later. I'm gona see if i can run a carb setup on the 4.3 insted of the FI just to save some time , i still have to do some more research thought . pleas keep thrown out ideas I'm soaking every thing up like a sponge. And as far as the gender bender, ur name threw me off to sorry.

Thanks fer corecting me on that D C , just didnt want anybody confusn pipe wit tubing . as far as pipe being structural goes ur right there r many different typs but i was refering to the standard black pipe / plumbers pipe sch 40 sch 80 wich is ment to route water etc.. not protect u from teraferma , not to say it couldnt thought. and i never said "pipe is for poop" .
  14. id like to keep the 5 speed i got but the bellhousing from advanced adp costs bout 500 bucks then the flywheel was like 1 er 2 hundo and u gota run a special 10.5 clutch disk along with their slave cyl ...ect. butmy budy said he would give me an sm465 /fly wheel and a divorced ford 205, but thats alota dern weight so i don't no. i gues the auto box will be ok with a good shift kit.

I'm sorry i have a 2.8 in the manche and want to swap the 4.3 in to it, and it dosnt have the plastic intake setup it is TBI not MPFI . also the 4.3 is not that bad it is basicly v8 minus 2 cyl , puts out a consideral amount of power , reliable, parts are plenty and its not a 2.8 . and i live in califorina so every thing i do as far as an engine swap goes has to be inspected by the smog nazies then it gets a stamp of aproval if the swap was done to their specs. as far as swap n in the 4.0, i would but i don't have a 4.0 i have a 4.3 in a blazer, complete runing and driving.
  17. pipe is measured by the ID inner diameter , tube is measured by the OD outer diameter .pipe isnt made with the best metal because its not considered to be structural it tends to be a little on the brittle side thats why we have tubing. just don't want anybody to get cornfused here. 8)

Just got my bros old s10 blazer 4x4 back (tbi4.3 700r4 231tc). now I'm gona do 1 of 2 things either swap out the 2.8 ax5 207 thats in it and finagle the blazer stuff in , but theres alot of wiring and junk to keep all of the fuel infection working and i hate wiring. Or i can sell it and use the money to buy a GM HT 3.4 crate motor and keep the manual trans wich i like better, o ya and i aint got alota time on my hands these days due the new born in the house so my wrenching time has been cut short , wata yal think.
  19. i used regular paint ,semi gloss black on some of the plastic pieces like 6 er 7 years a go and it still looks great , just my 2 cents

I power wash( steem clean ) engins off all the time at work , never had a problem with water in the cap or altenator , i have had problems off road though . but i sure don't like the idea of leaving it runing wile hozn it down , iv done it before but don't like it , it aint gona hurt anything one way or the other but just a personal prefrence. i also use castrol cleaner/ or some of u call it purple clean or what ever but it works a hell of a lot better than simple green witch is still good stuf specialy in the laundry, his not hers learned that the hard way.
  21. flush the radiator and check ur rad cap make sure its stil good and the right one

Not bad the reciever mount is nice but a winch mount would be better. aproch angle would be good but one good tug using the reciever mount would buckel the whole thing . i think a little triangulatn with a front hoop ,be it a single bend (like a stinger) or a more traditional aproch with a double bend front hoop :brows:

I'm with u on that BLHTAZ ,i just think some of the people readn n on this and writn need to come live hear in califorina bye me for a wile and then well see what they have to say about illegal aliens especialy when they want to go get a drivers liscence even though they don't speak or read english . it is easy to write nice peaceful things about somethn when it dosnt affect u but wait till it creeps in to ur neighbor hood , also i said illegal i aint got no problem wit the leagel ones except when they complain bout minimum wage/medicail/food stamps and have 8 kids. and remember WHEN IN ROME DO AS THE ROMANS :mad:
