  1. twisted has the right idea on doing a SOA on the rear, and the front is pretty cheap becuase used parts are readily availible from xj's i like rustys products - good flex and a good price, i never had a problem with them yet. www.rustysoffroad.com
  2. hell yeah, you will love those headlights. i have then on my jeep.
  3. they are for after lifting your truck, you can get them from rubicon express, rusty's, pretty much any lift kit manufacterer. and they are cheap too.
  4. well its good you got it all figured out, but your welcome to stay and keep on posting
  5. thanks, i thought they were wrong, i bought the jeep lifted, and the guy i bought it from didn't really know too much, so i am slowly fixing all the mistakes

    My house!

lookin good man, a driveway is expensive, but how much i don't know
  7. on my XJ i have about 5.5-6'' lift in the rear. 4'' leafs, 1'' shakles, and 1'' blocks. now my xj is a SOA like all xj's, but on of the pinion angle shims broke in half. the shims are sandwiched between the lift blocks and the leaf spring, and the blocks seem to be the cause of the problem (broken shim) my question is, are the shims supposed to be mounted in between the lift block and the leaf, or should it go between the leaf spring pad and block? or does it matter? i know the best way is to get rid of the blocks altogether, but i don't have enough money for new rear springs, but i do have money for the shims/ u bolts. and its not too serious of a problem yet because the 3/4 of the shim is still there, so it is still held in by the centering bolt.
  8. http://rustysoffroad.com/Merchant2/merc ... y_Code=bui you could also try autozone or napa they might have some.
  9. my girl she got me a front skid plate for my diff. from rustys. Woot!
  10. my xj will 33s and 3.55 gears, auto trans will get about 13 in the city, but on the highway i probably get about 20 if i drive around 65-70
  11. by far this is the most informative forum, and the most relaxed that i have ever been on. comanche guys rule
  12. really sweet mj man, keep it up. how do you do 2 transfer cases into one unit? that is crazy
  13. thats the kinda stuff i want to hear. kinda sucks they are more expensive parts tho.
  14. my xj is a 99 so its 29 spline 8)
  15. i don't know if mj's ever came with them but what are your thoughts on them, are they worth building up a bit on my xj (new gears, locker etc). i know they are stronger than a d35 but how much more?
  16. i love my xj how quiet it is with carpet comapred to my old civic with an engine swap and a loud exhaust.
  17. find out where your tires are rubbing, if its on the lower control arm wj arms curve in and i know a few companys make them rustys being one of them. but adjusting the steering stops may cure your problems
  18. that really sucks man, but you will remember next time
  19. that mj looks awesome, but i have a question, why did you convert to front leaves? just for easier lift?
  20. oh god that looks painful, hope they survived.
  21. i would be in if its not too far away, i live right by pete. and don't kick me out because i don't have an mj yet
  22. let me know what you think of the rubicon d44 front axle, after you get it.
  23. i just want to make sure that it would be worth it and getting opinions from people with more expiriance than me helps me make my decisions i came to the conclusion so far that a d30 could pretty much take all the abuse i am going to give it, even with a locker and new gears. and that would be even chaper than buying a whole axle rebuild kit with stronger shafts etc. so i think i am going to regear and add a locker of some sort and just carry extra shafts when i off road. thanks for the help all
  24. well i never really thought about it too much, i know they are good but don't know if they are what i want yet, but on board air is a plus
