  1. just fill it up and go by millage until you can find a fix. Never get the same MPG on a tank, so it a crap shot short of making a gas stop at 1/2 tank  And at the price of gas, can not leave a full can of gas in the back  Looks like YJ hunting time
  2. No, Pump works fine, just it's a 89 sending unit in a 92 system. Never know how much gas is in the system , and tired of running out of gas  Any time after 1/2 be ready to run out of gas
  3. Looking for a fuel pump Assembly with pump & sending unit as we need a new sending unit. I had ordered a new unit from Advance but it did not come close to fitting, think it may have been a XJ unit but did not have any XJ units laying around to look at. Auto Zone and RockAuto both show the same unit and part number as the 7072S unit I got from Advance  So has anyone used a new assembly with a part number of 7072S and had any luck with it fitting??? I do not want to order another one just to find that I have to send it back
  4. Is the lucky lady in the photo who got the Hog?
  5. Looks like my 66 I had. Even the inside
  6. Got my vote
  7. Take it for a long test drive and put a load behind it. Just want you to know what you are getting into. I wish I had took the advice of my buds that all had diesels  after I put the amout of $$$ into buying the truck and the $1,400 for the Banks turbo which had a lot more boost then a stock 6.5 and all I had was a big $$ dog. After I turned the pump way past what I should have it helped untill I burnt a hold through a piston  Never drove a Libby, but have Dodge, Ford and GMC 6.5's, 6'2's and a Duramax, and the 6.2 / 6.5 TD do not spool up like the new TD's  The way you sound about the Libby, it sounds like it spools the turbo like the Dmax, Powerstroke, cummins. The turbo on the 6.2/6.5 starts to spool at the end of the power curve. You have to watch your boost and not allow the turbo to runaway due to the crank will break very easy if you turn over 3,000 rpm
  8. 4.10's will help a lot. You will not have to worry about going fast. I had about 3,000# more then that, but 30-35mph is what I would get going up hill on 75 through KY.
  9. The 7.3 is a good engine. I go by a full size Bronco each weekend with a OBO that I keep thinking Bronco + 7.3 :brows: Where will you be towing at? I can tell you if you are thinking about towing your jeep down I-75 to GA you will be very unhappy as everyone blows by you ;) If you are going to stay local in MI it will be OK.
  10. Pete, I can fill you in on the 6.2 / 6.5 and not the I herd story's :D Had a 6.2 in my 2500 GMC pickup. And NO they were not a car engine with heads changed out like the chevy / olds project form the early 80's. They were built as a diesel from the ground up and used in H-1 Hummers And if you ever took one apart most of the parts had Detroit Diesel markings on them. And the 6.2 was non-turbo  My 2500 was an ext pickup 4x4 and 5 speed. And unlike what some may say it got 22mpg's in that big 4x4:rock on: But then it could not get out of it's own way  And that is what killed it, plus the :USAflag: public dislike toward diesels  After the first trip to TN pulling a 19 trailer with my tractor and the average speed on I-75 of 40mph  I had to do something, so I went to a buddy that was into truck pulls and has had about every diesel ever made :chillin: First item was a Banks sidewinder turbo :brows: then we turned the pump up, way up :brows: and replaced the stock air cleaner with a K&N canister filter. That helped a lot, the 5 speed was a problem as it need a 6 speed or a 2 speed axle for towing. The MPG's went down the crapper to 9-13mpg's but the engine did come to life  SO if you just want a buy and drive diesel it will do you good. I know you stated no FORD, but I have also driven a FORD and Dodge and they both are way better then my 6.2 / 6.5  If not for getting mad at the wife 2 yrs ago and I sold my GMC, I would have replaced the 6.2 with a Power Storke
  11. If you do not want the credit call them. Most of the time they will credit your card if you charged it or send a check back if you paid by check / MO/ cash, even list that in the Summit policy. I have never had a problem with them, and they have always went out of the way to help. As for small claims court, it would not be worth your drive to Ohio from BC :Canadaflag:   ALso you would have to pay your $25 filling fee in person just to get on the docket, so your would have 2 trips to Ohio ;)
  12. Well, After a lot of Hay and Straw the boy got his new CB ant. and winch :D It's a Smitty built winch, Works great
  13. Give me the info on the AW4, what all did that have to change and how did they get it to fit up to the 5.2 :D
  14. Anyone ever switch out a 5.2 V8 for a 4.0 in a ZJ? Outside of the same stuff for a MJ 2.5 to 4.0 switch anyhting else needed? I have had it with the MOPAR 5.2 trans going out all the time

    Carfax

Anyone with a car fax account that could run a report on VIN # 1G1JF5249W7127533 for me??? My daughter just got a 98 Cavalier, The guy she got it off of had the car for 16 months and put 84,191 miles on it  Trying to figure out if the mileage was off on the title when he got it in 07 or if he made a lot trips south
  19. Sure about that? If it's running in the GT World Challenge class it's gotta have TOYO's on it per their contract. Thus the reason why the TOYO name also has to be on their car/suits/trailers/etc. It had good year on the tire when I took the photo, now if they put on a set of TOYO's prior to the start of the race I do not know. That was about 6 hrs prior to the race, and 2.5 hrs prior to being weighed in and a lot of moving around, so it could have been a set of transport tires. But everyone was getting a good :rotf: out of all the tire names on the Kenda car ;)
  20. NO!! that is not funny, It did not have TOYO's under it  it was running Good Year's
  21. Wish we could have made it, looks like everyone had a great time  but this was just to good to pass up :D Danica Patrick and fast cars  The wifes Co. team car. Wish I could have taken it for a spin :D

    Jeep guys????

The pit crew for Indy Car driver Hideki Mutoh must be Jeep Guys. Of all the high tech fueling devices we seen in the garage area, this crew comes out with the unit seen below. It's made up from a fuel tip, piece of hose, 2 clamps and a small water bottle with a hole cut out of the top
  23. I like this one as it not only reads the codes, but has the manufacturer-specific codes stored in the unit ( do not have to go on line and try to find them ) and will view live engine parameters as well as operating conditions at the time of the fault :brows: And I can pick up the OBD I cables for $30 and use on ODB I systems if I want
  24. I got a Actron 9145 Super Autoscanner which is just one step down from the $500 Elite for $99.95 shipped :D Thanks to the current vehicle that in on the rack, it will be paid for when I finish up workon it.
  25. Pete M : Thanks, I thought they did. But I want to get one anyway so for times like this ( need to pull the codes now and no dep. money till Friday for the loaner scanner  ) Thought when I finish this job and get paid I would drop the $$$ back into a scanner  tjbliley : Which one do you have??? I have been looking at the Pocket one for $59, the Auto scanner + for $129 and the Elite scanner for $343
