Nother update: So the mechanic did cruisers CPS test. He told me that sometimes it would read the right voltage and sometimes it wouldn't read at all. Also some time even if it reads 0 voltage it will start. He is trying to tell me that he thinks it is a computer issue and he has consulted anothe mechanic about it and he agrees. He says that the CPS is a magnet and it either works or it doesn't. So he things its not the CPS and its the computer. I then went on to ask him, if its the ecu what is the plan of action. He said he doesn't know because he doesn't touch computer. So it's still sounds like the CPS to me and I know how they can act up for The stories I have read on here. So I tracked down a dealership CPS and am having it shipped to the shop. It was like 96 bucks and its going to take 5-7 working days to get there. When I called the dealership they also asked me if I wanted the high altitude one or regular? I just said regular. Any way please tell me y'all's opinions. And CRUSIER chime in with yours too. Oh one more thing, I have a brand new oil pan, felpro oil pan gasket, and felpro rear main seal sitting here that I have been waiting on putting on. I figured if the truck was just going to be sitting there for the next week I was going to have him put on the oil pan, RMS, and oil pan gasket. Well I asked the guy he he would do it and he said he would rather not mess with it........ Guy sounds like a idiot to me....

Got a update. Mechanic got to the truck this morning and said it started up and ran just fine. Told him to let it Idle until it dies. Called him back and he told me that it died after about 15 min. Said the fuel pressure is reading 35 psi when running and 40 at crank which is normal so the fuel pump is good. He told me that he confirmed that it is not getting a spark. I told him it sounds like the cps and told him how to tested it and he is not cooperating very well. Acts like he doesn't want to mess with it and is telling me sounds like the ECU is bad. So I finally got him to agree to let me have some one drop off Cruisers CPS testing document and test is that way. We will see what happens. Over all is sounds like CPS Problem to me.

Well I'm pretty sure it's the fuel pump. Just had it towed into town to a shop here. Really have no choice since I'm 2 1/2 hours from home and don't have access for a place to work on it or tools. The shop opens weds morning to I'll give them a call and let them know the deal.however I'm leaving Tuesday night cause that's my only way to get a ride back. Keep y'all updated.

This weekend and loaded the truck up to head to the beach about 3 hours away to fish and hunt and spend the Xmas vacation. On the way out of town I was going to get gas and it was on empty. I ran out of gas right in front of the gas station. Any way I filled it up and it started up. The died on me when I was coming to a stop a mile down the road. Took a few cranks and about ten mins ans it started up again. Then got on the high way and it ran to the my home town fine in about 2 and a half hours. Had it idling in the drive way after I got back when I was about to make the 30 min drive to the beach and it died idling, same story a few cranks and 5-10 mins it started back up. Then it did it to me a couple times more throughout the next two days. It alwaysed died coming to a stop or idling. The last night I was heading to the gas station. Had a 1/4 tank and it died while going about 50. Had a few large misses it felt like with in about 45 secs then nothing. Tried to get it started but was never secsessful. Got 12 dollars In it and had it towed back to the beach house. I then stuck a flat blade screw driver in the purge valve in the fuel rail and it spit out gas then air then gas. Did that a couple of times still it was straight fuel. But still couldn't get it to start. This morning woke up and it cranked right up. So I let it idle for about 10-15 mins and it died again. So I just left it there and as I was leaving accidently LOCKED THE KEYS IN IT!! Dumb me!!! Any way so what do y'all think. I have no idea where to go from here...... Please help.

Time for a up date. I got these Datsun 280z hood vents and I had never installed them so go figured it was time. First I made a cardboard template The I started cutting and the next thing I knew I had 2 big holes in the hood!!! I also positioned them so that the left vent opening was not directly over the distributor cap. Then I used e6000 epoxy to glue them on. I don't know how we'll it will hold up but we will see. Then it was time to dry. LOL And here is the final result. And some under hood shots. -

Will A 07 Jk Dana 30 Fit My 88 Mj
Zebvance replied to Zebvance's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wow this thread is still going? I just picked up a 8.8 and I think the main reason I'm going to pass on the free 30 from my brother is that its going to take just as much work to make it work than just putting a waggy 44 under it. -
Hahahahaha!! Me.

So much potential!!!! are you sure its a 88 though? I have a 88 and my steering wheel is different.
