Ok here is a newbie question to take the cake. How on earth do you get this darn tranny out. Lets start with the specs 89 4.0 with a 5 speed (that I was told was stuck in 4th) 2 wd. So I have all the bolts out around the tranny to the motor I no that I am not missing any because I have moved the tranny back about 1” to 2” and that it. The darn thing won’t go any further so I thought maybe the motor and the tranny was not lined up straight enough so I have a cherry picker hooked to the back of the motor and raised it up a little then down a little these did not seem to help. So I went back to my Haynes manual and was reading to remove the shifter it need to be in natural is this so the tranny well come out??? Please any body that has had this issue let me no what you did to get it out because I am about to take a CUTTING TORCH to this darn thing. :headpop: This being a holiday weekend and really nice weather I am want to get these one out and the other one in or I would hope to anyway. And next what is the best clutch to use. Thanks in advance.

I worked for a tire shop and used it on semi tire and tractor tire before I started one of the guy used a little to much and it went high enough to touch a power line. The shop actually had a air pig set up with a tube on it that would release about a 125 psi all at once alot safer until some one put a potato in it and we never seen that potato again.

Were did you get that bumper at after you get it mounted can you post pic. I might want to buy one for the wife’s truck
-
There was an MJ on eBay that was a burnt orange with black racing strips that I thought was really cool looking that or am a fan of Raven Black but if I paint a truck to look pretty then it is not going of road so what would be the point of have a truck just to look at just my thought. As far as the front end swap yes it will work there are several guys on here that have done the swap

Big Red-- now with new meats and Beadlocks
Rokhound replied to Rokhound's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Will yes and no I am in need of a set of CHEAP axles 4.10 and a set of steel wheels 15” 4.5 to 5,6 back spacing something like that.Wrench and Go I think there the best bet in Des Moines to get my axles. I am not a member yet I have been wanting to go out and wheel a little but the wife’s truck is 2wd and it gets stuck on wet grass and the red truck as you can see it won't be up and going for a while but I am on there website a lot Toy 4 Tots seemed to turn out really great. I think I might have ran in to Comanche33 at Casey here in town after Labor Day run down there. There was him and an other red Comanche so I had to stop. Seeing two Comanche in this town at the same spot that I don’t know is hard for me not to stop say hi. So if these happen to be you guys that cool -
Man I am glad that I live in Iowa we don’t have inspection because if we did I would be riding my bicycle back and forth to work. Will best of luck to you

I made some great progress with the part truck to day got the motor tranny and t-case out. Thinks for the tip that helped a lot if the guy that pulled the tranny before me hadn’t strip those top bolt  Now I have to figure out how to get them out. Special thanks to my brother in-law who just happen to show up at the right time to help. Plus I got a great deal on tires $20 for all 4 of them (33x12.5x15) there not great but the hold air or that what the guy said if nothing else there great for spares. Now I am looking for some steal wheel to go with them. I want to run something like 4.5” to 5” of back spacing. I will be adding more pics as I go -
Ok ok I will go back to my hole  I must of miss read the post I agree if you have one laying around that great because that is what I am doing as will I just thought that some one on here would have made the suggestion that’s all
-
I can’t believe no one here has not offered the suggested of the opportunity of upgrade to the AX15. And I think that may just be the way to go because from the sound of it this tranny is just junk no madder what. Just my thought is save the money on the rebuild and do the upgrade.

Anyone reupholster their seats?
Rokhound replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The guy here in town said that he would do the wife’s truck headliner for $125 to $150 I didn’t think that was too bad. Any thing has to be better than that darn thing hanging down or stable or thump tack or how every you want to get it to stay up out of your way. My car had this issue took a razor blade and took care of it for good. -
Thanks that helped
