  1. Well, from what i have been told the only way to do what you are wanting is to already have or know where to get a 4x4 auto Comanche. Even if you have an abundant supply of 4x4 auto cherokees around, regardless of year, you will either have to have a driveshaft made or find as said before, a 4x4 auto comanche to steal one off of as the lengths are different from 4x4/2x4 cherokee and 4x4/2x4 comanche. I wanted to do the same as you, the only difference is that mine is already 4x4 and i wouldnt have to buy the T-case. Also, don't think you can just pull a 2wd AW4 tranmission and slap a T-case on it, again from what i was just told recently, would require total tranny disassembly.
  2. Good stuff jim, good stuff.
  3. Boy that is nice, but a good bit out of my price range.
  4. Thanks for ruining my day. :fs1: ;) Oh and pictures or BS.
  5. Wow, :laughin: That is the most brillantly bass akwards thing i have ever heard. Good job for playing it so smooth.
  6. I am VERY curious to know what his intake temps were, probably ambient temp which is probably the equivilent to straight NO2.
  7. It looks like they are actually using ice or some sort of chilling product to cool their intercoolers. I have had that same idea, but had no idea of how to implicate it.
  8. sorry bud i sure don't, ad said he was in columbia. Your best bet is to google the salvage yards in that area, askin for a blue comanche.
  9. Well that blows. :(
  10. The other stuff makes sense, but as for an AW4 being converted to 4wd i have heard this before but i don't understand what it entails. I suppose the only way to go from a 4x4 AX-15 to a 4x4 AW4 would be to have a complete MJ specific 4x4 AW4 donor.
  11. Will a 87-90, 231, t-case, mated to an AX-15 be a direct bolt on for a 87-90 2wd AW4? What about driveshaft lengths, 4x4 ax-15 vs 4x4 aw4? Even if the T-case works will i have to find a drive shaft off of a 4x4 aw4? Will a Cherokee work? ftpiercecracker

  16. Good Stuff.

  22. Wow, any modern FI engines? What about the engine mounts? or bellhousing adapters? How did you get the gauges to work? I would think getting a Ford engine to work in a jeep would be extremely hard, talking specifcally about EFI ford motors here.
  23. Looks sweet, what happened to cause you to think it such a terrible idea??
  24. This, while very nice in theory is NOT as easy in real life, at least if you want a long lived, reliable motor. I have, right now, as i speak, every single part needed to make a seriously badazz stroker in the loft of my barn. Even with $2000 to throw at it and all the parts, i could'nt afford to build it. I really REALLY wanted to do a stroker, but the cost of the machine work is simply to much and with no job and no income i don't have many options. I will probably snag a cheap 4.0 out of the junkyard for the time being just the truck can move under its own power once again. I contacted the place i will get the engine from and they said there is a 30 day garuntte, exchange or store credit. I also asked about the state of the engines when they buy the car/trucks, they said if its has "good engine" written on the windshield, the motor was in good running condition when bought. The only thing they do after purchase is to drain the fluids, and put it in the yard.
  25. alright alright, don't get you panties in a bunch. I went over your's and Terrawombats build threads, quite impressive i must say. It seems that the number one problem with doing a swap is the harnesses, hours and hours of reading, cutting, and splicing. I would like to think that i am reasonably good with wiring, so with enough time and FSMs i could probably do it. But, in one part of terrawombat's build he mentions having a rust free base. My truck isnt as bad as i have seen, but once i read that, it made me remeber just how bad mine really is. I have by no means given up on the idea of a V8, and only recently had to pull the plug on a stroker engine, very sad day. I think for right now, a simple old faithful 4.0 will have to suffice. Either way it is nice to learn more about you guys that have done EFI V8 swaps.
