A carbureted smallblock is a waste of time and money, I'll agree with you there. "Smallblock swaps are plagued with cooling issues" is still an ignorant statement. That's like saying 4.0l's are plagued with cooling issues. I too, have seen and talked to people with V8s in XJs and MJs. None of them had cooling issues. In fact two of three said header/exhaust routing was the biggest issue.

x2 I paid $1100 for an 88 with a pristine body a year ago, and I paid $1200 for a 92 in pretty good shape. Both 4.0l and I drove both of them over 100 miles home. Literally zero rust on either. I would never buy a vehicle with rust issues when you could pay the same price for one without rust.

Chevy 5.3l. 300 horsepower and will probably pull 20mpg in an MJ. Carburetors are ghey. There's a reason they aren't used anymore.

Not to mention the time you'll save. What is your time worth to you? There is no reason to swap a 4.0 into an MJ when they are so widely available for so little money. Don't give me that "they aren't available around here". That's dumb. Even if I lived in the rust belt, I would head south, or west, and get one without rust.

Just buy a 4.0 MJ. So much easier, cheaper too.

I've pressure washed carpet several times. I spray the hole thing with Purple Power, then pressure wash the whole thing. I usually throw away the pad and replace it with new stuff from my local fabric store. The results are always amazing.

Leatherman Charge. I've had mine in my pocket for 5 years. I use it everyday. At work, in the garage, camping, wheeling, everywhere. I prefer the Charge because it has a pocket clip. I can't stand the belt pouch, that's only something an old person would wear.
