Same problem with my 86...checked fuses, bulbs, replaced my dimmer switch, still nothing. I'm told theres a ground wire, near the ebrake(?) or brake pedal...I'm not sure though, havent been able to find out anything more on it...Check the ground first, unless you have tiny hands and an extra joint in your forearm, the dimmer switch is a royal pita to replace I think its by the brake, If I remeber corretly. Saw a wire on the brake...but I'm 98% sure thats for brake lights...i'll have to look again tomorrow

AMC and Mopar go hand in hand, in my book anyway

Was posting from my phone..couldnt figure out how to add pics.... :hmm: This is the box just sitting in the bed. Thats roughly where i plan on mounting it. Got an old semi truck mud flap to use for rubber spacers, about 1/4" thick. Plan on putting two strips, one on either side, under the tool box and bolting through it, to inhibit vibration and rubbing against the bed. Box won't rust, but rub the paint off the bed and it will. Underneath i was thinking use 2 pieces of mud flap, one on top of the other, as spacers between the bottom of the bed and top of the fuel tank. That way the bolt heads won't rub against the tank. Link to toolbox from tractor supply:http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/tractor-supply-coreg%3B-full-size-single-lid-chest-46-1-2-in-black Lid is 47 1/2" wide, 17" tall, and 20" deep. Has the cut out on the back to clear bed rails, or in this case my headache rack

Dad got a ford escort,'95 i believe. Was a damn good car, and I'm a die hard mopar guy. I wouldnt buy one, but ours ran good, averaged 28mpgs city, low-mid 30s highway. Never had a problem in the 5 years we owned it. Dad drove it daily, roughly 20 miles one way to work. That being said, keep the jeep.

On the carb...or really anywhere since the carb is the main vacuum hub for the entire engine...I'm missing a bunch of vacuum stuff, don't even have the smog pump hooked up, lots of stuff taped off, etc, and i drive 10 miles/day, and a tank lasts me almost 2 weeks. so i have no idea

Bought a new tool box for the mj yesterday, the kind that sits on the floor between the rails...not sure how to mount it since the fuel tank sits against the bottom of the bed...best idea so far is to put a 3/8" rubber spacer between fuel tank and bed and bolt up through the floor that way, to protect the tank...any better ideas out there?

Dude I'm all for it. Clean it up...its a resto with a twist...heh, twist.

I coated mine with chassis saver, no complaints so far. And on vacuum lines you lost me

Personal favorite is the square headlights and muscle grill. Headlights probably grew on me from mjs and xjs
-
LIKE THIS! But with jeeps instead

Congrats on it passing! Easiest way to dry floor is to pull the seats and carpet, seperate carpet from the carpet pad, and thow away the pad.

Keep your eyes peeled...i ended up with a 94 xj, ax15/external slave. Got the whole jeep for 350. Buddy needed an engine after blowing a hole in his block. He got engine, i got the trans. Stroke of luck i suppose. Theyre out there...sometimes.
-
Nobody ever gives me a free xj... :fs2:

Thanks for the tip! Fought with my pass. lock for a couple hours...just gave up. Got it to open, no radio, nothing to steal in the cab, so i just left the lock alone.

Got some heavy rain yesterday, combined with the heat, my mj is getting a mildew smell inside...anyone redone the door/window seals or know where to get them?
-
:yeah that: Being in MO, where the dirt is so acidic it rots your truck, sucks. Thats what most all of em look like around here. I got lucky i guess :hmm:
-
Yeah...guy had alot of cool stuff...but the m jtruck just didnt do it for me. Was a cool concept though!
-
Somebody did that. We had photos of it on here a couple or three years ago. Not the guy who fiberglassed an mj to make it look like a j truck, stepside bed and all?
-
I'm the same. Similar story to Petes father, out in the woods with some friends, everyone got poison ivy 'cept me. don't burn either...never have thankfully

Last time i looked he had a 20+ page build thread on cherokee forum, title "The Rolling Felony Story"...havent looked in a while. Easily the coolest build xj i've ever seen, full internal cage, LEATHER seats, boat seat in rear, working on "perimeter cage" on the outside. Read the whole build in a day. good easy read, lots of humor in his thread! Link: http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/rollng-felony-story-71774/

i have a thrush glasspack on my 2.8, no muffler. sounds alright. Only got it because it was cheaper than a new muffler. Dunno how it would sound on a 4.0.buddy has a cherry bomb glasspack on his 4.0 and it just sounds like crap

Mine didnt come with a radio..its been driving since ~jan and i still havent put one in it...kinda waiting till i figure out all the noises it makes. They usually tell me when something breaks so i don't destroy it. Someday though ill get around to puttin it in. i know how that is, my dad's old 89 s10 blazer made a lot of noises and he knew what broke when and where cause of the noise, but i do want a radio cause they're a lotta other drivers that crank their radio up with music i don't like so blockin out their music is a plus, Redwolf That right there is the biggest reason i want one! And its nice if you have extra speakers to make removeable boxes, set em on the bed, and be a bonfire dj  yeah but sadly i never know where the bonfires are in my area and i don't have the land to start em so speakers in the bed are little pointless for me, but as long as i can open up the doors and turn it up i'm fine, Redwolf Thats why you put in disconnects on the door speakers, make a box for some extra speakers, and just plug them into the door discos! Great for bonfires, camping, etc
