He said that a scrap guy was enroute and would pay him 300.00 I said that I would give him 400.00 to send the scrap guy packing and hold it till the afternoon.. He says ok I will call you right back. you guessed it... no call, the ad is pulled. a$$hole. I am back from new England btw and have that rear bumper for you whenever you want it. Looking for some HO 4 liter parts..................... Bob

Wheels And Powder Coating
buffalob replied to AMCJeepMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think that all the above bad things you mention will probably happen and you should give them to me for my 87' so you will not have to worry. I have had several sets of powdercoated wheels (albeit done at the factory) and have never had any issues of any kind. Need my address? Bob -
the bumper wraps all the way up to the back of the rear fenderwell. It slides right over the sheet metal of the bedsides. It is a b*@$£ to get on and is best done with 3 people (two are a must). It was custom made for the truck by Jarod Fessler (now in Brighton Colorado). His company name is Fessybuilt. He also built the front bumper, side rails, bed side plates and modified the roll bar to be my spare tire carrier. Here are some more photos of the rear bumper.

4.0 Ho Intake On Renix Block
buffalob replied to buffalob's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My 88 has been running great for 6 months the exhaust leak is a new issue. I may have found a good donor cantidate .91 comanche sport 2 wheel drive with the 2.5 liter 4 banger. Cheap cheap due to title problems. will the harness and computer work with my 4 liter? It is a short bed and I know I can get at least 400 bux worth of great parts off her. -
Not so recently I got a good deal on a Banks revolver header for a 4.0 liter ...make a long story short it is for an HO era 4.0 liter and though it will fit the renix head no problem, it will not allow the renix intake to mount. I swore profusely and loud then ordered and installed the pacesetter header and drove off for the summer having a new exhaust system bent and installed new magnaflow muffler flowmaster cat etc etc..............grumbly with the banks header still in a box in the shed. Now for whatever reason I have developed an exhaust leak that after checking and tightening everything I can get at is still persistent (read annoying and loud). I have also stashed in the shed a new hesco larger bore throttle body, a high dollar cold air intake and throttle body riser (AFE? I can't remember), all the linkage from a 99 cherokee sport at the pick and pull. a new set of mustang fuel injectors ( seem to remenber that they are 24 lb ?). Question.... If I go score an HO intake manifold from the pick and pull, what other items do I need to upgrade change modify? to add the banks header and associated goodies. TPS? wiring harness (engine bay and /or dash) computer.... I want to get this done before winter sets in as I have no garage (and got rid of my spare car) Thanks for the help suggestions opinions etc. Bob in Denver

Steel Replacement Cowl Bonnet / Hood
buffalob replied to COFFMAN's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Last (reflexxion) one I found was on ebay about 4 months back. Guy wanted $ 750 for it...looked to be in real nice shape, paint etc. I did not pay any attention to how the auction played out, as it was a ridiculous price in my opinion. Good luck with your search. Bob in Denver -
Sadly I remember when Boulder was the granola girl capital of the western region. Chased after evryone of them in the mid 70's in my teens. then later the birkenstock alfalfa eatin' crowd wrestled it from the dead heads and white rasta kids. only to be replaced by the new age new wave neo pagans. the city wide anti-smoking (yes even out side) craze (90's?)...would get you a significant crusty at a red light with your ciggy an windows rolled up to boot. I don't head up to the people's republic of boulder much anymore ....to suffy too expensive too uptight too boulder. But Man!!! them granola girls were somethin! The Vatican of colorado mmmm maybe. Comanche full exhaust options?
buffalob replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you are cool with welding up the pipes yourself...you can get all the bends you need (yes even in stainless) off the shelf at Woolf aircraft in Romulus MI. This bending house stocks more bends than any other company I know. Best suggestion...get a handle on the tube O.D. wall thickness and centerline radius of the bends you need that you feel will best do the job, and give them a call to see what they have available. you will have to do the cutting and welding but will have exactly whatever you want. And yes you are correct, most muffler shops are not set up for mandrel bending. Too much outlay in equipment and more importantly tooling. onesy twosy jobs would take a lifetime to pay off the investment. I work for a Company (machine shop) that makes tooling for rotary draw (aka mandrel) benders. Woolf Aircraft is on the web...as is "Tools for Bending" in Denver. Bob in Denver -
