  1. Let me guess...the dog still sleeps in the house???? Meh......... it ain't so bad.......
  2. I think sometimes it is a miracle that ANY MJ in colorado gets by you or Jim. My wife would have had me me sleeping in the shed years ago if I was half as addicted. Cudos on the new score..... PS Bucky is still not home.... She has been moved to the painters house. What jurisdiction is Quebec and Leetsdale?
  3. I remember seeing the truck also on craigs list. the guy was in Golden. Just my opinion mind you.. it looked good but the price seemed high for what it had in it. untill at the end when the price dropped. BUT I did not go check it out in person.....I peridodically see good ones in the vicinity though most of the reasonable ones get snapped up by Jim in Pueblo or Troy Yellaheep so you need to be ready to move quick LOL
  4. So the one in the quadratech ad is a replacement for the inner boot on the comanche? am I understanding this right? the pic sure looks like the beast. The one that screws to the floorboard.... many thanks for this info. I have been hung up on not seeing comanche in the fitment info previously. The best one of these I have been able to source at any local scrap yard is still crap. (can you say duct tape.....) will order one later today. Groovy info Jim thanks.. Bob
  5. Looking awesome Earl. keep the pics comming. I will catch up once I get my paint on brother!!!
  6. Awsome truck...a well deserved accolade... That stump never had a chance. B.
  7. And so the saga continues........................
  8. Well I just got back from the Painters place we had a long talk and set a new deadline. I will say that the work he has done looks pretty good. Wish it was further along? yeah you bet. But I now have seen it, know where it was moved to, know for a fact is is all there and in one place. Apparantly the shop he has worked out of for the past couple of years...whatever arrangemnet he had with the owner is well not what it was...whatever that means. The bed got put back on the get it trailered to his house. Bottom line, I will be over there Saturday and Sunday next weekend to pull the bed and help with all the final prep and Primer it is to be in the booth by mid week following that weekend and back home two weeks from today. The light was really lousy and she is squeezed it there pretty tight, but I did shoot a few pix. (That is my son Jeremy ...the one who drives the Wrangler..in the blue shirt in front of the truck) and several pics down you can see me in the passenger side window in the hat and beard)
  9. 14 weeks last Wednesday. The time is an issue certainly but the lack of information and inability to get any info (contact or even a return call, e-mail, or text.. for weeks at a time throughout the process) has been infuriating. There are always valid excuses explainations etc etc..... just gotten to the point where I don't care what the reasons are, just want the process over. This is supposed to be fun right? I peddled off my spare car to a family friend that had a desperate need, shortly before the paint process began. They needed it I didnt at the time. Just another reason that the dragging on process has come to a head. sorry sorry ( calm down bob) ok ok breathe breeeaathe......better now.... rant over. Hopefully Sunday I will be pleasantly surprised enough to post a dancing banana or something...we will see.
  10. Well my Painter has come out of hiding and given me a call (was inaccessable for three weeks!!!!) I am to meet with him and see the truck on Sunday. As I put it to him, I need to see it and find out where you are, what it looks like and what your intentions are....based on that I will make a decision on how (or if ) I wish to continue the process. Cross your fingers toes and/or other protuberances for me guys (or remembering Warren Zevon...send lawyers guns and money...the $#!& has hit the fan).
  11. I had the new side glass (both driver and passenger) and the new CR Larence slider done last spring. went straight from the glass installation to the tint place Paid $ 125.00 took about an hour and a half. looks great, and they offer a great waranty. I have had absolutely no problems with it. Went Limo dark on the back glass btw. check "the building of bucky" thread probably on the first page I can't remember. Probably got a good break on the price as it was the third vehicle I have taken there in a year.
  12. This $#!& looks awesome. Has anyone tryed this stuff on bumpers etc? or has anyone tryed the tintable option to get another color other than black? considering the quote I got from lineX (and it does not yet include the bumpers sliders or fender flairs)....this stuff is looking pretty sweet.
  13. Thanks for the info and I will try to source a pair. I am doing evrything I can to de-chrome everything.... would probably sand blast and paint (or powdercoat) as neccesary. Glad you brought this option to my attention. the gears are still whirring in the noggin on the pretentious Germany snobbery aspect however ....will keep you posted.
  14. I was not aware of this option. Many thanks to you both for the info and suggetion... I am now on the hunt. will kkep you posted.
  15. yep pretentious German snobbery...I am having some wild ideas...
  16. Don't blame you a bit....what is the width on your pitlers?
  17. Here are a couple of the other odds and ends I am considering working into the center console. Been trying to remember when asking the seller (on ebay) for dimensions...not to mention the fact that they are being considered tor modification/installation in an american made 4X4 pick up truck (blasphemous)................
  18. Well not much of an update...but I have been doing a bit of research and wondering where my interior plans are going. I really like the zebrano wood wheel and shift knobs. The upgrade dash trim bezel is a pretty good match too. The search I did for Zebrano wood trim led me to mercedes....apparantly this was the trim wood of choice for them. Decided to start simple and look for a couple of pieces of trim that could possibly be worked into the door panels maybe...... what do you think? Obviously cutting trimming etc would be in order. These pieces are metal backed with threaded studs welded to the metal backing. They came complete with flange nuts. spent about $ 10.00 apiece. There are several wood covered roll top cubby bin options for various mercedes center consoles that look like a good match also. admit it you know you want upscale German snobbery trim in your pick up truck too doncha?
  19. looks great Earl. I wound up going with spidertrax 1.5" spacers in the back, and my front to back track width now appears even compared to the body line and fender to tire projection. As suspected the pintlers look great and the color of the wheels with your paint color is great. You ought to pull it outside and shoot a few in the sunshine (assuming you have some...the storm we got on Weds. night/Thurs morning, was headed out your way I suppose). Your truck looks fantastic...just would like to see it in the sunlight...Oh, and yes I am jealous as hell....
  20. Sales, applications engineering and customer servive for a tool & die manufacturing company. We make tooling for tube and pipe bending equipment... ship world wide. Everything from small OD tube for medical applications to 16.0" pipe for the Navy. we tool automotine to aerospace (and everthing in between) applications. Started here as a dumb pup in 1979 as a bender opperator. I do applications analysis technical support publish articles on tube bending and travel to customers facilities for hands on troubleshooting and operator training. used to be on the lecture circuit for tube and pipe fabricatinf seminars... but since 911 these don't happen much any more except at trade shows. And (as was said earlier in this thread) whatever honey-dos my wife and family come up with....
  21. Dropped mine off on Wednesday the 21st of November.....13 weeks and two days ago (but who's counting)... I am so far and away from withdrawals....havent drank or drugged in 23 years...(but the day aint over yet). Good luck on the paint wait. I feel your pain. Buffalo b
  22. If you don't mind me asking... how much did you give for yours as I assume it was bought while Reflexxion was still making them? man it sure sets your off nice. ( not that it wouldn't be sensational without it) I think I read on here about a year ago that the last known reflexxion hood sold on Ebay for $ 750.00. (and it had been painted, mounted and separated from it's truck) I had to opt for and accept a NOS lund visor for mine to give it that "bit of personality" we all crave. (and I defiantly spent more on that than I should have). I had one on my old 89 cherokee many years ago and liked the look. It's one of those things you can't be ambivalent about...you either love 'em or hate 'em.
  23. Holy crap Earl. Damn this looks fine. Are you absolutely certain that hood would not look better on my truck? The stock bumper in the same color as the body is great. I like the removal of the JEEP letters on the header...the look is really clean. The guy doing your body/paint work is a wizard. I can only hope mine comes out half as nice. I did not think I would care for the chrome (I have removed all of mine... not even replacing the badges or anything) but the look on yours is great. The chrome helps break up the paint color on the front. I can't wait to see it with the pintlers mounted, and parked next to your other truck...is it the same color exactly or just "close"? My hat is off to you sir what a great build..............
  24. you forgot about all the junkyard, craigslist and e-bay parts hoarded and hidden in the shed, garage, attic storage facility, office and the buddy's house... (oh and were all traded for not bought with real money).......Other than that, you pretty much nailed it.
  25. I suppose that were i in the same position I would feel the same way.......
