  1. Thank you all for the kind words. Last night she seemed to take a turn for the better and she was pretty much her old self this morning. But we will take it one day at a time. Gonna get an order of fries to share with her tonight (it's the only people food she gets). But thank you all again.
  2. My friend of 10 years isn't doing too well. She may not last too long. This is really painful for me because I have never had to do anything like this. Here is a pic of me and her. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
  3. Don't let them fool you. These trucks are plenty capable with a little lift and just 2wd. I very rarely need pulling out and I keep up with the 4x4s.
  4. I came to this conclusion from hours of searching on other jeep forums. And when I removed the drain and filler plug they were both identical except the drain plug had a magnet in it.
  5. Update: The filler plug is on the passenger side just behind the mid-plate above the reverse switch. It is a flat head hex plug just like the drain plug. The "don't remove" plug is a linkage plug. This is for an AX4-5. Just FYI. :smart:
  6. Yup driver's side, halfway up. Cool I thought the trans would fall apart or something if I removed that. :dunce: Do you have to get new crush washers for the plugs or should they be O.K. to just go back in there?
  7. O.K. I have looked all over the tranmission and I have located the drain plug which is directly on the bottom of the trans. All I can find is a torx head bolt that says "do not remove" on it. The vehicle in question is a 1987 2wd Sportruck 2.5, 4-speed. :hmm:
  8. Thanks.
  9. I know the lug pattern is right but is the backspacing O.K.?
  10. Thanks Pete.
  11. Is it possible to just hook the arm of the valve to the frame to stay in one place. Or would this screw with the brakes?
  12. Finished mounting my fuel cell on the '86. And greased the the lube points on the '87. :wavey:
  13. O.K. so i just said heck with it and took the truck up to Muffler Man so they could hook it to the power bleeder. About 15 minutes and $10 later all my clutch problems were history. Seemed like the best route to me. :dunno:
  14. So being an AX-4 there should just be a bleeder screw sticking out of the side of the trans if I am thinking correctly?
  15. o.k. I did a bit of research and it is an AX-4.
  16. Does anybody have a pic of an AX-4 so I can see if that is what I have.
  17. Yeah I have the renix TBI 2.5. I really am not looking for more power out of the spacer I was jus hoping to squeeze 1 or 2 more mpgs to add to the already good gas mileage I am getting out of the motor. I guess for 70 bucks I can just try it out and see what I get. :dunno: I am not a big fan of cold air intakes. They look cool but the factory setup keeps most of the dirt out and that is all I want it to do.
  18. Anyone using the JET throttle body spacer on their 2.5?
  19. Just get rid of the heater control valve and run a regular piece of heater hose from the block to the heater core. Mine blew up on me on the trail. Thank god for brush on electrical tape. It kept the coolant in for the rest of the day and the trip back home.
  20. Got a 1987 2wd 2.5 4speed. Not sure what tranny but I think it is a T-4. I have bled brakes berfore just not a clutch. I am usually nervous when doing a job for the first time. Any advice or tips to make it easier. Just had the clutch master replaced.
  21. Unknown mileage on the V8 in place but the longbed has 100,002k on the body, and the shortbed has 162,720k.
  22. Where did you get those taillight guards? Or were those a one off custom set?
  23. No ideas? O.K. I guess I will start by bleeding the system. I am also getting a shudder on cold damp mornings when I engage first or reverse but it goes away when it is driven a bit. Any ideas?
  24. Kinda sounds like a Triumph Speed Triple. It's pretty naked from the factory and they nick named it a "hooligan bike". I believe the brit slang for a cafe racer was a "naked" or "rat bike". That is a very nice bike you picked up can't wait to see it finished. I have been toying with the notion of getting one of them Daytona 999's. They still have a brand new one at the Triumph dealer in detroit.
