  1. Well guys its been awhile since posting a lot of things have taken priority over the manche but it is finally time to start giving it a little attention. Recently I parked the manche after purchasing my brothers 04 TJ that has been my daily driver for the last 8 months. The Jeep is on 37s and drives great but is just to much to drive everyday with as much as I drive for work. The plan was to replace it was a LJ Rubicon but they are just ridiculously priced so I have decided to go a different route. I am going to finish the body work and begin looking for a wrecked 97 up XJ with as low of miles I can find, that is 4 wheel drive and has cruise control. I have access to a couple of wholesale salvage auctions, so I am hoping that will give me some verity to choose from. I am going to paint it impact orange because I freaking love that color. I will be looking for a fiber glass camper shell to color match to the truck. I am going to eventually put it on tires just under 33s with a 8.8 in the rear. Planning on trying to get this done by mid January to get back to work on some other projects and to sell the TJ before I put even more miles on it. While i won't have updated pictures of the manche up until after this weekend and won't have any real exciting pictures till the weekend following this coming one, ill post up some pictures of my recent distractions. We took 3rd place at Durhamtown in B Class- it was our first race and hopefully not the last, but racing is on the back burner till i get richer :laughin: For now its just wheeling trips and we just got back from GrayRock Finally my most recent money pit / pain in the @$$, my friend sold me the krawler hauler uhaul...we are no longer friends
  2. yeah that was mine. They never called it a comanche and never really showed it from the side. Nice catch though i could barely tell it was a comanche.
  3. It seems right as i get to the point of working on the mache, either me or one of my friends come up with another horrible idea that i just can't say no to. This time its ECORS (East Coast Offroad Racing Series). I believe there is or was someone on here that raced his comanche in the stock or B Class. No I'm not racing the comanche ill be racing my tj buggy. If yall want to follow me and my build i have a facebook page set up. http://www.facebook.com/donkeymotorsports Our first race will be in Durhamtown July 6 and 7th. Special Thanks to Xtreme Jeep in Tampa, FL Off Camber Outfitter www.getoffcamber.com As for the poor comanche it just sits, we took the head off of it and put it back on then had the head gasket leak on us. We went back had the head resurfed and have no leaks but now its got horrible amounts of blow by and can't maintain rpms underload. I still havent decided what to do with it yet my options are rebuild the motor, replace the motor with a little newer 2.5 (would like to get multi point fuel injection), replace the motor with a 4cyl out of a 04 to 06 jeep wrangler with 6 speed manual (2.4l and my favorite option), or my last option is sell it to a good home that will love and charish it and be able to give it more love then iv been able to.
  4. Any body going to jeep beach this year, i will be heading over friday night from tampa.

    Florida?

Hey when are you leaving for jeep beach i just decided today that i will probably be going.
  6. If you were closer to tampa i would say 10 bucks if your lucky, but being that your to far away id tell you the truth which is i have no idea.
  7. Saw 2 in tampa one on the road and one parked. I didnt even see mine though.
  8. yeah before it was buzz and someone else, now its matt and bruno. Matt is the announcer and puts on the truck gone wild events and bruno is an nhra drag racer. The way you see them on tv is the exact way they are in person, their personality does not change in front of the camera, which is cool because iv seen a couple of people who change in front of the camera and its noticable, and normally you can tell. Now as for mine here it is. The only thing iv really done lately is the tires which isnt in the build thread. I thought id have time to work on after finishing up my buggy but that never works out. So maybe one of these days my truck will get worked on. I was trying to get them to do the 97 and up front end swap on the show but it didnt happen. :(
  9. Yeah I have I'll find it later, the speed bend was because someone put and aftermarket ball type antenna on it and it was sticking way out the side so I bent it back till I get a junk yard fender with stock antenna. I'm excited to see if it works also.
  10. It's on speed channel it won't be airing until sometime over the summer or late may but when I get an official air date I will let y'all know.
  11. Awesome, clean comanche
  12. I havent gotten on in awhile as i have been extremely busy with work and helping a buddy get his tj ready for easter jeep safari but today i got to work on the comanche and thought i would share. For you Truck U fans or have seen Truck U here's a sight i bet you thought ud never see. Yep a comanche on set. Unfortinately it is not getting anything crazy or be the main vehicle in the show. We pulled the head off and are doing a real life z max test. Today was the first pull apart to take a look at the build up on motor and you bet we found some. So back together it goes and z max added. I will be driving it for the next month with z max and then we are pulling it back apart to see what it did. I will keep yall posted and hopefully add some pictures of the build up and the after. I will also post up when it will air. here's a few more pictures i grabbed today.
  13. never mind i found it like 20 pages back, either way freaking cool comanche

Let me know the date i wouldnt mind coming by to lend a hand and add another manche to the photo opt.
  19. thats exactly how i wanted to do it, thank you for finding that.
  20. Yeah the high bolsters suck unless you have a removable steering wheel and don't mind contorting in to your vehicle.
  21. what ones do you have, sounds alot like the baja ultras like i have, and they were a pain to get in and out of in my wrangler with out a removeable steering wheel. The baja ss arent to bad of a side. The ones I'm recommending are much like the mastercraft seats. baja ss, id consider this a occasionally driven street vehicle but more serious off road the ultras, the sides on this thing are so high i dissappear, this i consider rarely driven on the street, extreme offroad you do not move when strapped in and the recommended JP seats i have never set in one of these but remind me of the mastercrafts only 200 bucks less, these id consider for my daily driver
  22. check out corbeau they make a decent seat that is way cheaper then master craft but still good quality. i have the baja ultras in my buggy, but would recommend looking at the corbeau jp seats, those are the seats i would wanna put in the comanche.
  23. you live in florida by any chance looks like a florida xj and one of those crazy gator fans. you see vehicles painted orange and blue more then you should in florida.
  24. go pro to mount in the buggy, can't wait to see what I'm able to capture on video. also got a jeep shirt i had been looking for. here's a picture from it mounted theres so many more options to
