  1. It does...you can see the ram. And check out those front lift blocks!!! Scary. But...that is a good ole mud truck. Gotta love it for what it is.
  2. Looking good. Like those corners and lights ;) as for finally catching back up on this thread...street, trail and speed run wise the comfort level would be much better with shackles in back. It allows axle to move back rather than forward upon compression. You would also see benifit in verlicle climbing of tire for same reason. Only real benifit is driveline does not need as much spline.
  3. Should have half a day of some good weather. Have fun and don't get dirty. :shake: let me know how the gas tank skid holds up as well. Just got home. Got Dirty, and wet for sure. Gas tank skid held up amazing. Did waterfall, upper and lower crushers, well we did pretty much everything. Was nasty up there and got worse each day. Broke a short side inner shaft on front axle on the lower crushers. Got the manche out and put a spare in, fun recovery but went smooth. Shaft broke clean and straight so there was no binding to make getting rig out anymore difficult. I also broke a rear shock off. Clean break on the shaft, not bent at all. I guess its time for a traction bar. Didn't take many pictrues but will post what I have later today. Gotta do some cleanup of the Manche first. ALSO...Manche got its first body damage. Small dent on passenger side of bed, right above wheel well. Did it coming out of the upper crushers on the almost impossible to miss tree. :(
  4. Heading off to Browns camp, should be a great weekend of wheeling in rain!
  5. I was looking at the Naxja NW fest, not sure though. Got work, my birthday and a trip to see my sister in Cali. Also, saving for my 3 weeks in Moab this year aug 26th to Sept 12th. So I might make it, just not sure. Ya, your a MJ guy, just like I'll always feel I'm a Mallcrawlin.com member after having my WJ for so long. I'm heading up tomorrow, so we hope to get some area by thursday night worked out. Two rigs and trailers going up tomorrow so hope to snag enough space for the the rest of our group that shows up on fri, and sat. If you can somehow get up to Browns come say hi. If not, I'll continue to post my adventures and hopefully it will work out to meet at some point. I'm not against Naxja, just like keeping to a single forum, and I like this one.
  6. Congrats!! Your post should have read soon to be second happiest day of my life, sounds like in about two years it is gonna be outdone with a wedding day ;)
  7. And beating the $#!& out of your rig. I've got every years DVD of Top Truck (even a couple old VHS). I also made the voting with my Sidekick a few years back, but wasnt in the top ten. I personally feel that Top Truck has went down hill in a sense. Don't get me wrong the rigs making it now are badass. There all huge, have big blocks and are crazy badass. The thing is I enjoyed it better when you could still get in with a "truck". Now days it has to almost be a buggy or built like one. I think one of the last years I really enjoyed was when Jake Hallenbeck got in with his 16v sami. and battled with what is still probably the baddest @$$ CJ of all time. When guys were buried with 35's and 37's and guys were crossing the finish line sitting in there engine compartments spraying starting fluid in the carb...lol. Those are the good videos, and years of Top Truck. My fav rig of all time was the gray and silver Bronco on portals. SIck rig
  8. Haha, No! Glad to say there are no leaks coming from the Manche. That is a area in front of house that alot of cars park, including any car that friends bring over for my roomate to work on...Most of them are leakers...lol.
  9. Well, getting ready for 5 days at Browns camp this weekend. Got a fire extinguisher, mag light mounts and cb installed. I also did a little touch up on the sliders and bumper to get it all prettied up and ready for the trip.
  10. Don't forget the cost of new underpants. Glad it was just machine damage!
  11. At least jeep still had a "seperated" bed on there unibody. God, its another Honda Element....ugh.
  12. Ive seen this show, and agree. He seems real honest with buyers and such. Funny thing is I agree he pays to much for the cars and sells them to cheap. When first person to see it always buys it that kinda tells ya something. My biggest issue with show is same as above, he never accounts for his buddy that does the works labor. Entertaining, but not smart. First one I saw was a saab he did.
  13. Its not an arogance thing, its the fact that its goofy. If I want to talk to a guy and check his rig out or vice versa. Stop me, talk to me. But I just think the wave thing with bikes, jeeps, etc is wierd. And...honestly I have to admit, if I can tell the rig gets wheeled it doesnt' bother me as much as when its a street jeep. What really made me start this post and comment on the waving was when I drove a newer body style VW bug (doing brakes for a gal friend of mine for her) I got the "wave" from another bug owner....that was just to much for me. lol. EDIT....all this said, If I get waved at I do return the wave. I just can't be that guy thats to cool to wave even though wavings not my thing.
  14. I could have my buddy cut you some boobie gussets for your rig. Another thing...I drive a comanche, not a cj, yj, tj,jk, etc.....so stop waving at me. And while I'm at it, if your in a xj...stop waving too. (I will still accept thumbs up though..lol)
  15. My FelPro kit came with all new bolts and wahsers, and rubber seals.
  16. Build a prerunner comanche with the all alum chevy 5.3. Heck, I'd like that motor in my current comanche for that matter.
  17. Great truck, enjoying this thread!
  18. Browns Camp Memorial Day weekend. A couple of us will arrive on thursday and by the weekend there will be a good sized group of us there. Any MJ guys are more than welcome to join us. Or...just say hi and have a beer at the campsite in the evening time. Well probably be camped just up from the prison. Cheers, Jason.
  19. 3/16 cold rolled steel plate
  20. In that case chop the top! A cage makes all the difference in both the safety aspect and getting some of the rigidity back in the unibody.
  21. BUMP. anyone use the motion offroad springs?
  22. Ok, I have decided..... If you have a "Its a Jeep thing....." sticker on your jeep, then you don't understand.
  23. Not only that but a crudly hacked off roof looks tacky..... And trying to build a mudder with bald 33's, cutting err, hacking the fenders, isnt tacky??? LOL. :hmm: If he cuts the roof I hope to god he puts some sort of roll cage in it.
  24. Also....if anyone is wondering why the frame side has the 45 in it for a inch or so, unlike the passenger side. Its because it will catch on the bolt for the leaf spring before you can drop it low enough. It gives just enough room to drop it down and then over to passenger side a little to drop all the way out.
