Well, got this thing dialed. Getting ready to go through all the fluids and clean it up. Have a appointment in 2 weeks for bodywork and paint. While that is getting done I am having the cage powdercoated (only thing I have yet to coat) and then line-X touched up. Then........going on the for sale block.....It is time for a Hemi JK :) -
I should be able to make this trip. Will not know for sure till a date is set in stone. I have a winch, recovery gear and spare parts when I go. I know the trails and will help anyone that needs help. Cheers, Jason

Haha, Not having a bumper will not really help. I would rather drag a solid bumper than sheetmetal that will fold, tear, and genrally hang up. Trust me, you want a bumper....I know.

We have one of those here local in Olympia, I see it every few weeks out and about.....

I could do Aug, Sept. prefer sept. I would not go during the Xj event. These trails are way to awesome to spend your time sitting in line waiting for obstacles. If you wanna go show off your jeep go there for an event. Wanna wheel it? go offseason and event free times. You will probably not get to hit all the trails you want in a weeks time even if you have 0 breakage and make 2 trails a day. We went for 3 weeks and only ran 1 trail twice, and that was because its a great trail. (we wheeled 18 days out of 21)

Hey guys, check out the April 2013 issue of JP magazine. My buddy Jamie's white LJ (pics of it in my build thread from Moab/Rubicon/Fordyce trips) got a 3 page feature article named Lust J. Pretty bitchin!

Well I cracked the "frame" at the steering box. I'll get some pictures up soon. Gonna be bracing and running a support across from other side of the "frame". Should never be a problem again. -
I agree, I have seen some of the biggest piles go up on Barrett before. Huge lift/ tires on stock suspension with double shocks and stuff. all chromed out and sells for 10's of thousands and its just a cj or something. They had a JK with all bolt on crap and 40's on the stock axles go for close to 60k last year!! ugh.
-
You could probably do all that for 16k if it was just 60's out of an old ford, and used tires and wheels and a base stroker. Real 60's (like prorocks or rockjocks are about 12-15k by themselves) 1500 for a good longarm, 3000-4500 for good beadlocks and tires, A real built stroker is 5k easy. Paint...well 3k would get some body work and probably a couple runs. 5k+ for a good one. And this is assuming you do all instals and builds yourself. It is amazing how fast your reciepts add up if you ever get the chance to really do a build on a rig. I'll bet if you ask anyone on here with super clean, or super built (60's/stroker/etc.) you would be blown away with what they have into there rigs. If they even know, most don't add up reciepts on purpose.

I sold one for $350, and the tailgate for another $100.

Ya....thats why I think its worth 20k. Its used goods. Its the quality of fab, the parts, and its on AND offroad abilitys. Its also the little details that make the difference in a sale. Feels stock and clean on inside, great stereo, guages, incab winch control, power options, alarm, corbeau heated seats, etc. A very clean, comfortable, and usable interior, and the ability to truly cruise at 70 with no problems. Then outside is all buisness with suspension, selectable lockers, and more than enough motor. Its a complete truck. .....and still has a usable bed.
-
I have sold a couple rigs in the past, I have watched Pirate for years. People never get what they want for a rig, or anything close to what is into it. I at this point do not care what my rig is worth, but after the conversation with my buddy's the other day I thought I would ask on here. This truck is pointless to be "booked" or "appraised". Appraising it would only be for insurance purpose and nothing else in case I got sideswiped by some drunk. I can tell you there is well over 40k retail in parts alone in this truck. Labor is also pointless, it is worth nothing. To see were the conversation goes.....I believe the truck could sell for 25k. It would take someone to see it in person, see the quality of it, and of course have a pocket book, oh and the ride along would be what really sells this thing. I've owned 4 MJ's and this is like nothing else I have ever owned. I think its worth 20k, but really its priceless to me.
-
150K?!?!, ok maybe it is for sale.......lol.
-
Ya....I choose 44's for clearance. I like to have to drive my rigs. 60's would be so overkill and a loss of clearance running my little 35's. 44's built like these are more than enough for the rig and tire combo. I would have to completely re work suspension for any thing more than 37's. these axles are built well enough for 37's. I agree that no matter how built, 44's just don't have the same appeal as 60's. That said, 44's were the right axle for this build.

I have to come back and look through your thread every once in a while. I just can not get over how beautiful your MJ is. I just love it!!
