Thank you sir. I wanted something different than just short pieces of tube for stand offs. Thought this worked out pretty cool. -

You should be able to fit about 8 bolts on the armor for the gas tank cover, maybe 10.....hehe... :wrench:

Got a tool for rivet nuts, thanks to my buddy Jamie. Got to work today. Here is a few pictures of how I went about the process. Was a little scared to drill into my fresh new paint, but it worked well. They did a great job on the body work too, the bondo was paper thin even in the back upper driver corner that I bashed pretty good in Moab. I had a couple that didn't line up exactly so I'll be doing a little tedious grinding on the steel slider base tonight. But almost there and ready for tube.... -

Started the bed sliders. Had the shop press break them to match the bed line to add some extra rigidity to them. I'll hopefully get the threaded rivits in tomorrow and have them mounted so I can add tube this weekend. I'm in hope that they didn't get to happy with the bondo in the drivers back corner of bed......guess I will find out tomorrow...... :dunno: full length of bed......They sit right up under the cage, so notched and will sit further forward....just didn't want to scratch the paint up... -
Can't help much but just drove a 07 with the 3.0 CRD....talk about torque....
-
Beautiful, ...yes its better for driving, but honestly when it comes to offroad, a supercharged or stroked and supercharged 4.0 would have WAY more torque and that's what ya need for wheeling.
-
I would trade my stroker 4.7 for a 5.3 aluminum bowtie motor in a second. Specifically if I could just click my heels and "poof" the swap was done. Since I can't I will continue to enjoy the 4.7. If you wonder why....well the bowtie motor would be about 80+ pounds lighter for starters, be more reliable, sound WAY better, and get about 8 or more MPG's.....

How Many Times Has This Happened To You ? "that's A Jeep" ???

Yesterday I pulled up next to two girls in a Pathfinder on 31's. They look over and driver says "NICE TRUCK, who makes that?"...So there I was sitting in traffic explaining..... -
The Procharger (intercooled super charger system) in my Yukon XL was about $7000..... I have rarely seen a "inexspensive" boost job done on a rig. Ya....you can throw some parts at it, tinker, fiddle, finally have your ECU reprogrammed or realize you need a stand alone, and well....I would say 1 in 40 that try a do it yourself end up with either a blown motor, a $#!&ty running rig, or well.....A LOT more $ than they planned into the job. 90% of the time the used turbo/supercharger is toast anyway... 4k!?! Ya they can kiss my bass.

Some cold rolled steel is getting break put in it today along with precut mounting holes. Should be starting on the tubing tomorrow and mounting. Hope to have bed rails done and ready for powdercoat tomorrow. I'll try and get some pics along the way. -

Thank you sir.. -
No, but I almost had him make me a set. The only reason I did caps was I only needed 1 side so just had him match what was already on the truck. Then when he gave me 4 stickers (In case I messed up putting it on) I decided to just redo the good one too (it was a hair crocked) The hood/header JEEP and the tailgate JEEP are painted, the rest is sticker so may not be running door stickers once I do graphics.....we will see. I'll pick the graphics first then decide if I'll do 4x4 or Comanche on side.

HOLY CRAP, I'm gonna tell Tyson to start making old school graphics......$155 bucks!!!!!!!....haha.
