Ah, A fellow originality nut, for want of a better term. I thought I was the only one who hated to mar original sheet metal, no matter the purpose. I once thought thought about gluing some velcro strips to the top rails and bottom overhangs on the tool box so I wouldn't have to drill any holes in virgin sheet metal, . :MJ 1: . Unfortunately you can't fry a egg without breaking the shell. I hate fried eggs. scrambled? Jim yes? you're talking to yerself again. Yes I know. Seems it's the only way I can hold a decent conversation, :rotfl2: I know a guy who had the same issue about drilling for a toolbox. He ended up using J hook bolts and blocks of wood under the rails so the hooks dug into the wood instead of bending up the rails. He claimed he never had any issues and it held just like it was drilled and bolted.

Sounds like ya took a simple comment a bit too personal. Relax, check your blood pressure, and have a beer or do whatever it is that ya do to calm down. One of em has to be suckin in air from somewhere. As much as I hate to say it and I know it sucks @$$ but I'd swap em out for new ones.... Fortunately for me I have an external slave. Youll know its fixed cause it should only take one time and about 5 mins to bleed it and have everything working.

where did you buy the master and slave? I went through almost that same thing. swapped out the master and slave about 4 times with new ones before I got the right combo and was able to bleed it. musta been a batch of faulty parts.

Thats a damn good idea if ya have the means. I would with mine if I could and sell em. Make some good money on ebay. Plenty of people want em. I was lucky and found mine in a yard for $20

Its LED so no bulbs. I was thinkin one of these days when I get bored I may mount it inside above the rearview mirror and wire it in to my alarm system so whenever its armed the scanner would be on. Better than the little blue LED that came with it.

I have a red custom knight rider scanner light that does about 20 different patterns. It has all metal housing. I can dig it up and look at it, brand new and never been installed. probably wouldnt be too tough to change the lens to amber although its probably too small for what ya want. its plenty bright and is not one of those cheapos that jc whitney use to sell. This one sold for about $300 new IIRC EDIT : here is a video of it that shows the patterns.
