  1. If all your other gauges read fine I would just replace the sending unit by the oil filter.
  2. the only way to fix the old knuckle is with a helicoil repair kit. most autoparts stores sell the kits you would need
  3. Autozone and most autoparts stores sell a replacement bolt on knob
  4. I just pulled the transmission out of my 87 jeep comanche 4L. This will be the 3rd time I have had to pull it because of the TO bearing leaking. Does the AX5 have a sleeve the bearing rides on? There is not one on mine and it seems it would allow it to wobble. The pin and retaining clip were intact.
  5. http://www.quadratec.com/products/52430_00.htm I don't know anything about the 4WD setup but I believe that is what you need
  6. Check that your distributor cap doesn't have any moisture in it, also make sure you don't have a spark plug wire arcing somewhere, it would act up more when it is wet/damp out.
  7. You prob knocked the antenna out of the back of the radio.
  8. the sliding rods are either allen or torx head bolt, those have to come out to split the caliper from the mounting bracket
  9. well if you left the bracket on the pads would still be on the vehicle, not the caliper
  10. sounds like the clip holding the bendix from smacking the nose of the starter has broke causing the bendix to go too deep into the flywheel jamming into the flywheel pull the starter and there should be a round "hat" with a round wire clip inside it holding it into a groove in the starter armature.
  11. If the engine is running the flywheel is turning
  12. Sounds like your choke is not opening keeping it on a high idle situation, make sure the choke is open after it is warmed up.
  13. Does anyone know what powers the bulb behind the factory clock on a 90 Eliminator? My manual shows no wiring for it and the socket itself is dead, the clock works i just can barely see it. All the fuses in the panel are good and it won't come on with the dash lights. I did a search but the only posts i could find are on swapping the clock with a different year it seems.
  14. Try using an eraser over the terminals on the back of the faceplate and the front of the radio. Give them a good buffing till they are shiny brass again
  15. has anyone gotten any of the new lights off Ebay? I was wondering if you did if I could get some feedback on the quality of them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Com ... _500wt_956
  16. Duh, didn't see the front mount, try this link. http://hitches4less.com/jeep-truck-trailer-hitch.html
  17. Rockauto.com sells a class III hitch for like $105. Not worth the risk of a bumper folding up on you
  18. I wouldn't destroy the perfect lines of the MJ, but that's just me.
  19. I know on the 4.0 some headbolts need threadlocker to seal the bolt holes, I am not sure on the 4 cyl. something to check, maybe your leak is the headbolt threads themselves
  20. Check this page out for testing it. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Eng ... ostics.htm
  21. there is one for the gauge and one for the ecu to mix the air/fuel mixture, I would go look at mine but my GF is driving it right now, she drives it when she can even though she has a fully loaded 2006 tacoma. My manual is in the truck so I can't even look at the wiring schematics
  22. could be the temp sensor on the engine
  23. Tthis may sound weird, but smell your oil. If it smells like fuel you will need to change it asap, the fumes of raw fuel in the oil will play havoc with the sensors in the vehicle. (not to mention the scoring that could happen to bearings/cylinder walls) Did you change the spark plugs? they may be fuel fouled.
  24. Make sure you are not one tooth off on the distributor, mine has been running fine with the knock sensor unhooked as well, when i got the truck the guy said it needed all 6 fuel injectors, it turned out he had the distributor one tooth off and now it runs fine.
