So I started digging into the parts in the truck and found a few misc hoses,... :???: Set the timiming thank to Automan's assistance and the use of a 5/16 drill bit, now I used a nut to hold tension off the belt but do I leave it there or just let the belt move? do I tighten it back down? 11. Well you may recognize this Comanche from the "I need another Comanche like a hole in the head" thread , well it's home now and I started digging into it,.. So here are the "Find" pictures Now yes it "looks" great but the engine is literally a basket case, Previous owner has an issue with how it was running, so he pulled the head off and had it rebuilt, installed it back on the bock and stopped,.. That was 5-7 years ago  These pictures were taken at 9Am today: Parts: What did I get myself into,.. The bits and pieces,... My ammo to fight this fight!
  12. Cool thanks!!! So it's kinda like bleeding brakes!! Dumb question; Can the crank be 180 out when you set the timing??
  13. Not sure if I have you on Facebook,.. Will send you a PM
  14. Automan; you rock!!! I will get on it tomm! Do I need to prime the injection pump? Or just crank it until it gets fuel?
  15. No haven't checked anywhere yet, just was tinkering today and realized I need this tool as I have no clue where the PO left the timing when he removed the head. I was going to call the dealer tomm (chuckles) to see what they say, then see who sells winnabango's and hope I can get the tool through them,... Worst case I fashion one myself if I can get measurements. I have a mechanic friend but I'd be surprised if he has one.
  16. I have had them in my race truck for several years now, freeking awesome product!
  17. Anyone know where I can find the TDC tool? I am a tad stumped,...
  18. With the "How did you get into Comanches" and poser pics thread how many do you own currently and how many have you owned? Just curious on how deep the illness runs.
  19. Seems this thread has made it to the interwebs elite status http://www.reddit.com/r/trucks/comments/28w4w3/_/
  20. I have swapped vins on cars in the past, but for proper reason. Girlfriend at the time had a CRX some a-hole stole the stereo and destroyed the dash. Found a used dash, did the swap of vins and installed the new used dash.
  21. Looks ok,... I do see some good kinks in the panel that would require some work especially around the wheel arches. That being said is is great to see some replacement parts available from the cab back!!
  22. That thing looks like a hot mess! I am biased but I like my style of chop,..
  23. Few things come to mind to check out on top of what's already been said above: 1) have you checked the timing chain? Make sure it's not got too much slack 2) fuel pump ballast resistor; had a similar problem in a 1989 Cherokee I bypassed it 3) test the throttle position sensor
  24. Wow
