  1. WAIT!!! I just thought of something, What if Chico decides to paint this truck a different color? Half the names on the list so far wouldn't make sense. People would start to think Chico has the same color blindness problem that Pete does! Take that into account everyone. Ok, Carry on with your days now....
  2. Liking it... liking it. Keep em coming!
  3. EGGSELLENT SUGGESTIONS SLUGMAN! (Seriously now, what works better for you? Fiat? Slug? Lug? I'm having a hard time figuring out what to call you.) Change of plans to the rules for this competition! We will make a list of all names suggested during the 168 hours, back timing to when this contest was originally posted. At the strike of midnight, on hour 169, Pete will compile a list, long list, and everyone, (all 3 of us so far), will vote on our favorite to name... Pete, figure out how to do this will ya? I know you're bored and need extra to do. So far we have Isabella REd Tan (that's just weird Pete, why can't you just try and act normal sometimes man) PEarl (Thanks for keeping with the feminine motif!) Stormtrooper (just forget this one..) Casper (Not bad, can be construed as both masculine and feminine) Sailable (Props to you for using the English language 87, nope that name for you isn't not working for me either) The choice is yours, but choose wisely my friends....
  4. I'M ON IT SLUG!! GET ME A NAME IN THE MEANTIME!!!!
  5. WRONG ATTITUDE PETE-O. NO FREE CC HOODIE FOR YOU THEN!! Come on man. Let's get creative here kids.
  6. Fiat, you are the man! Now, I just have to look around and find a junkyard 91+ HO, 4 liter, engine, engine wiring harness, dash wiring harness, front clip, air freshener, bucket seats, headliner, steering wheel, adjustable column, inside door panels, window cranks, and corresponding front dash pieces and I'll be good to go. NOT A PROBLEM! Thanks bud!
  7. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... (tHE INTRO to the opening story board of the ORIGINAL Star Wars, from 1977, plays defiantly in the background...) MY NEW/OLD BABY HAS LANDED!!!!! now!! The most important thing first!! WE NEED TO NAME HER! Let's start coming up with ideas for Chico. As a young man, back before the turn of the century, if Chico was ever to have a daughter, his dream was to name her, Isabella. 20 years, and 3 daughters later, none of them named ISABELLA, (We've got- Hayley Christmas Mia Lynne and Macie Rae) So, his dream of one of them securing that name in his fabled history and lineage fell short. Therefore, Chico proposes, like he did to all SEVEN, of his ex-wives, the name, ISABELLA! Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Let's make a contest out of it. If Chico doesn't go with the name, ISABELLA!, in the next 168 hours, then the person that suggests this vehicle's new name first, that he chooses worthy, will be awarded, ONE FREE Comanche Club hoodie, in the color and size of their choosing, paid for by Chico and shipped directly to their front door, or garage of their choosing. Let the games begin! PETE, WHERE ARE MY STICKERS!!
  8. EXCELLENT!!!
  9. Couple questions for you/ everyone on here.. I swapped a cluster like this into my 88 many years ago. Out of a "regular" Cherokee. If I remember correctly, it was a pretty much "plug-n-play". Would you know if this would work in an 89 Comanche and be a simple swap by chance? I remember the tough part years ago was cutting the bottom of the gauge (little rectangle) to see what gear the truck was in on the letters/numbers. I remember Hornbrod came up with something different that looked "nicer". I'll look up his old build later. Anyone one else have a good idea on what to do about what I just mentioned (showing what gear it was in)? I'm looking an at automatic. Anyone had any new good ideas or can point me at a post that's covered this? Thanks in advance! I'll take the cluster if anyone can confirm this will work on what I might have, after I actually get it tomorrow dude.
  10. It's taken a short bit but, the reckoning is upon Chico! By noon on 09/02/26, After years and years of suffering in exile, Chico will know if,,, He is finally a Comanche owner again! Stayed tuned for tomorrow's episode and FIND OUT!!! I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Wahoo, hold my beer and read me a story, will ya? oxxo PETE!!! WHERE ARE MY STICKERS!!!????!!!!! Man. xoxo
  11. Just wanted to put an ending on this one. Gotta say, Had to get some parts for my JL. Ended up finally dealing with Extreme Terrain. Completely positive experience from start to finish. No complaints on doing business with them on these parts I needed. Just wanted to give my opinion on them. Thanks!
  12. Actually, Gentlemen says it's an 88. He just looked at the title. He's grabbing VIN # now for us.
  13. I'm going to try and not jinx this but, Extreme Terrain and Quadratech, might just prove me wrong about everything I wrote earlier. I'm quite surprised with both, and so far impressed. I'll let you know how this part of the story plays out later in the week....
  14. The shwag is real... Literally only took 48 hours to get here
  15. Is it the engine wiring harness? https://www.ebay.com/itm/117218675940?var=&mkevt=1&mkcid=16&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=rkhkrpjgta-&ssspo=9VcI-gCPTLW&stype=1&widget_ver=artemis&media=MORE This is on ebay. $300 bills. These people are nuts. Hit the pick n pull for $25
  16. Long time ago, the first time mine caught on fire, I just pulled a full one off a close year from a Cherokee at a junkyard. There were a couple differences but I can't currently remember what they were. MAybe something with the taillights. Nothing that important though. And I also had an 88 auto at the time. My advice, take many, many pictures as you pull it off the donor vehicle. I went to a pick and pull but nowadays you should just be able to search online and just have them pull it for you and ship it. Might cost a little more but worth the headache.
  17. I'll take the shiny one!
  18. Yep, that's what I was trying to say last night derf. My apologies it didn't come out correctly. We already figured it out on this one but it'd be great to actually find a good company to deal with. I like dealing with Quadratech most of the time but, they don't always have every OEM part in stock. As an example, in this particular instance, this is what happened..... (Come sit around the campfire and tell stories with me WAhoo) The short story long, At 107,000 miles my 2019 Sahara's original, from factory, brake pad's still had 7/32's left. I found that impressive. A couple miles later, I started feeling a pull to the left every time I hit the brakes "harder" at highway speeds. Thought the new tires I had just put on were overinflated. Sometimes it also felt as if a tire had gone flat because it felt like I was getting pulled to the right when starting at a red light. I'd pull over , check, and tires would be fine. I'd drive away, no issue. Sometimes I'd start picking up speed to merge onto the highway and it felt like the turbo just wasn't kicking in. I attributed that to the fact I've been lazy and still haven't changed the plugs or coils at this mileage. Shame on me. But it was very random and not often. Every night when I got home, I'd park it behind my house under my deck. Go in, eat, walk out, smoke a cigarette and kept smelling this burning plastic smell. Everyone can figure out where this is going right? Passenger side front caliper was sticking. The quick Google and AI search, and as stated earlier, question posted on a JL site, came up with the conclusion that either a caliper pin was sticking or the inner wall of one of the brake lines had collapsed. Problem was that I had only realized this too late and only by chance last Saturday. By the time I did, the pads were wasted on that side, the rotor probably chewed thru and warped, and the caliper rendered useless. Had this been 2008 and my 88 Manche, the situation would have played out something like this. Hornbrod would have told me to pick up a box of 4" frill toothpicks. Pete would have recommended some off the wall brand of dental floss from Taiwan to wrap around the toothpicks to mimic a caliper pin. Jeff would have told me to light 3000 grit sandpaper on fire, using 87 octane gasoline, to sand down the rotor. Eagle would have had me put it all back together with "blue" Loctite. And Wahoo would hold my lite beer. And then I'd drive off into the sunset, Until the truck caught on fire again... Maybe not that exact story but it was always something similar. At least that's how I remember it. WHat i've realized after 7 years with this JL, is that sticking with OEM parts, factory engineered, is best for it. Lot's of people knock this era of Jeeps for different reasons.. Owned by Fiat.... 2.0 Turbo engine not the fabled 4.0.... Electrical gremlins galore... Poor assembly, engineering, or craftmanship, and so on. Truth is mine, has been great. Minimal issues and just basic maintenance was done. Only now at over 100k miles am I starting to run into actual "problems". But really, what car doesn't, at this mileage, start to have some kind of issues. ANd my mine is a work horse. It hasn't been "babied". So, after that long drawn out story, I decided I wanted to stick with just replacing the whole front end as far as brakes goes with OEM, which led me to this search and query, However, it has just been one problem after another because of two different, not-so-great dealers, and lack of tech support either by them, or online retailers. Main problem was my year had some pieces with three different part numbers depending on VIN and model. We couldn't get a good straight answer on which part # to order for separate pieces. That and everything is always "on back order". We've ended up giving up on Mopar OEM for now and I'm just throwing on Nastra calipers and Gold line pads and rotors. The SS brake lines to cut out the collapsing inner wall problem is still on back order. SMH. YEs, we could have gone with something like the TeraFlex Big BRake Kit, but $5K plus isn't needed for a stock Sahara on 31.5" tires. Know what I mean? It just annoys me that I've been out a work vehicle almost a week due to uneducated Dealer, retailer, and sales people. Hence, the "Looking For an AWesome Retailer". Man, I miss Hornbrod and my 88 Comanche. Jeep would have gone down Saturday at 3:00 pm, he'd have it back up and running in time for church on Sunday. Wahoo, crack me another beer please.
  19. so, there's 3 different ones plus you can find me an original?
  20. Thanks guys, appreciate the help! What I'm actually looking for is a good site to order OEM parts for my JL. I apologize for not explaining myself better last night. There's a slew of options when I searched. Just asking if anyone has a "favorite" over the others. Ease of use...fair pricing...live customer service... fairly quick shipping. Things like that. What I meant to say by "useful help" was from the actual online retailers, not fellow Jeepers on other sites. I'm on a couple sites, here and there. Honestly, the few that I frequent are definitely ok. None quite like this one though. The "goofballs" there are one of the main reasons I hardly ever interact. They are a very small percentage of the groups but, they irk me wildly. It hits a cord with me when some someone new to the brand asks a simple question simply because they're just starting, and then get ridiculed relentlessly, and the moderators don't stop it right away. I understand they can't get to every post fast enough and I just want to "hit back" but, got old and finally learned it's not worth it. Never see that problem here. It's really why I like this site, and put up with Pete's shenanigans.
  21. Forget the injectors. I might be wrong but the ones I pulled up that I think we put in 20 years ago are running $500 for the set. I'll have to check again in the morning when I can read clearly but that price is unbelievable and not worth the money IMHO.
  22. Looks great! Man, don't quote me but, back 20 years ago, I think i put in the same fuel injectors a Ford 5.0 was using and they worked great and were relatively cheap at the time. Lemme see if I can pull up the old info from 20 years ago and I'll get back to you.
  23. Fantastic acquisition story bud! Great to see an MJ transferred from one loving family to the next! Puts tears in my eyes.. Hold my beer again Wahoo.. Damn, I really missed you guys, Ok, gimme my beer back Wahoo..
