  5. all the photos gone again, man, still no progress but comanche has done loads of runs to the dump and home depot, afraid the frame rust may be more than i can tackle. i need to get to this project some day, but use the truck so often I'm afraid to tear it apart..

    Delayed Intro

nice looking comanche ya got there...
  17. pretty much any beer will do, but a big fan of stone IPA,or dogfish head 90 lately. i'm hunting for golfballs as often as i can. (sold 900 on craigslist last year, helps pay for jeep stuff)
  18. hi,guessing you have them tilted correctly, think up is on. center is off, down works with the doors. i had the door plunger stuck /rusty, hit it with pb blaster and a little sand paper and that cleaned up the motion and connection.did you look at the wiring/electrical mj dowload, that helped me with a few of my dash issues. good luck.
  19. haven't posted since the new format of the forum, both comanches still in maine, the 88 runs great, will get the body work done with photos along the way in the summer and fall. took the '90 up to maine, figured out the shifting problem was the ground had come loose on the frame, cleaned and tightend that and it shifts fine, but then i had an overheat about 200 miles into the summer. havent had time to troubleshoot that, but i think its may be heater core related? here they are up in the north woods, i put 235's on the red '90, looks good. got to bring the 88 home, finally got around to the new tires, put 30x9.5x15's on it, they had to cut off that lug nut i never could get off. gonna start taking things off to get ready to grind and bondo the body work, pix of that work to come. also have the dash apart again as i wished i had my gps on the drive home, so i need the lighter to work, a wire came loose so should be a quick fix. been a while, so an update : have run some fuel system cleaner and a few tanks of shell vpower premium this winter and since then i feel like i recovered full factory thrust, pulls stonger than ever. had to reopen the dash because i had rewired it wrong, had 2 wires going where they didnt belong and was blowing fuses, got it all back to 100% in an hour. went on a pick n pull run and saw only 1 comanche, stripped almost clean, but it had the exact configuration as mine, even the chrome bed rails. took the vent windows off it and the coolant tank for my 1990. gonna try a different junk yard tomorrow. have a friend working on the 1990, doing all the gaskets for me. trying to sell our house so another wasted spring, but i will finish this thing. need drivers floorboard ASAP, seat is starting to lean...
  20. wouldn't a pick and pull have a tank? anyone know if a cherokee tank works?
  21. wow, thats a nice truck, did they ever offer leather? was it ever a dealer option?
  22. howdy jeepers,i found a new comanche project, a 1990 pioneer long bed. 137k miles, red, 4 litre, 4x4 auto, rear slider, AC, electric locks, original radio that sounds good.4 x 4 works fine. got it last week in a hurry, had to get to work, so bought it a little faster than i would have liked. issues i have found are door locks need work, drivers key slot is loose and tricky and passenger lock isnt connected so won't open with key but turns fine. the auto tranny works fine most of the time, only drove it about 40 miles so far on 3 days, and every now and then does the no power upshifting described in a thread, so have to trouble shoot that, sure its electrical because shifts flawlessly most of the time. the body is awesome, no rust, just a few dings. floor pans perfect , interior is in great shape(bench seat), looks garage kept. pix coming soon.
  23. my 88 comanche has 108k, got it with 104k.
  24. pilot, and whatever my wife wants
