120,000 on engine ,drive train 220,000 plus ....most expensive repair timing chain RxR , most expensive mod was the ignition mod msd 6al box and earlier magnetic pick up distributor with ford connector.... runs great,also likes getting blinged a bit , but like most women does not like the cold ...joking !

My mj started out in the backyard of a friend's house in parts and bits. He said you can have her in a trade for an ar-15 i just built for myself and test shot with him. At the time, I was driving a Oldsmobile supreme 1986. Well a few weeks later a girl texting on her damn cell phone and driving at 40 mph decided to make the olds into a station wagon at a stop light .....one dead kia sportage!! It mess up the back end of the olds pretty bad. Neither she nor her family had any car insurance (which is bad mix here in VA). My friend called me on that weekend for some shooting at the range and I said sorry, can't go 'cause my car is mess up. He had a small junk yard in backyard, but no olds stuff. I told him that the insurance got the car and went to court.... hairballs! Later that week, the man i work for said a flat bed is here with a MJ for you... what the moo???? Old friend was called and said just trade me the rifle for truck ...and more parts for the MJ as well! So since 2006, the MJ has been my ride. Very little down time and road stories as well! Like in '07 when an a$$hole painted white paint over my bumper sticker on the tail gate. What an all time loser!!!! My MJ lives very well and cared for now. My friends think I should paint her camo because her paint is fading its silver... What do you think gang, camo or what? thxs (edited for clarity by the admin)

don't laugh i have use duck tape in a can -under hoods etc it works great 3m stuff is good it too with heat will fail ....

ok for fun my tilting steer column crap out today -this is the 2nd column first was victim of a broken bearing ..went got a non-tilting column from the junk yard ..damn rust on the sliding sleeve ....xing out a steering column is about 1 hour but due to rust crap ......this is a 1989 how many different steering columns configs with the manual tranny ? i noticed the output shaft toward the steering box was shorter than other one by 1.5'' anybody see this before ....thxs

THANK YOU you all for the help ...... this rewire job was a small work to do and done right .....after freezing bells off in the junkyard Saturday ,taking out a wiring harness like a baby also careful to find out somebody cut the wiring of radio to pieces ,so i used the old harness part for this -solder in and shrink wrap ,tape up ..the rest is done like for holding the harness in place use of plastic push rivets and cable ties with eyes , cable ties etc ..damn the the old battery '06 marked gave up its ghost ,oh well next get the smoke out Friday..... joking !!!

i have been handed a 1988 Cherokee under the dashboard harness that was a automatic tranny which as off shoot from the main trunk 10 pin harness [black]where 6 [gray]pin weatherpac is on the MJ ...can this be made to work with MJ ? color codes for 10 pin connector is what i am look for to match the mj lay out ?found this on mj ''6'' pin Connector C157 which right as i have known but trouble the Cherokee harness the color codes don't match ..anybody know this one??? up-date a bag of cuss words ! wiring harness is not right for a MJ all the rest is right the difference is the 6 pin weather pack connector ...the newer has a 10 pin square ok now can this be patched over ?

i am working on a 1987 MJ with a very bad wiring harness under the dash . the main plug /fuse box melted plus brake fluid hit it too ! yes you guess it ,let the fun start now!!!parts are needed OUCH!!! sorry for a bad post early ...this poor MJ really got me working hard to repair,the brake fluid is real evil stuff ,it came from the clutch master cylinder coated the fuse box and corroded the connectors at the firewall ! somebody can make kit device to detect brake fluid leaking before the devil has his due ,would be great .... got ideas , gang

last week my MJ [she was parked]was hit by old lady with Buick in the left rear bumper area ....damn can't see that small truck !!!bumper don't fair well with 2nd hit in the same area but the Buick has one head light out and whole plastic front popped app. 2000 bucks in damage ...now back to the junk yard again ...damn it i hate bring a target !!!

the autozone crap again ...i was asking for a different brand and non-china made ..but sorry this is the only brand we sell ! so watch out what you buy from autozone ,most is china made ...fast food auto parts !!! this last one was over brake rotors ... i asked about brembo brake rotors for the jeep ..its sad you can't get better grade of parts and the excuse given was many parts makers are too small to supply the demand ..talk about crap !!

one other thing will do this is the high point of the tracking bar-driver's side ..that funny 4 bolt mounting post if /or when the bolts break ,oh hell happens !!! see the lower bushing wear out as well ...so learned lesson wash off the mud and do a look over .....cuss words later please !

i got a cv axle from autozone from the victim ...it was right BUT outer cv shell was rusted and pitted very badly for a 2003 mazda ....for remen ,thats very bad because the seal edge where wheel bearing seal ride on was rougher than corn cob ,you guess it water etc will hit the wheel bearing what a pain!!next the packaging was next repackaged in Mexico, rebuilt in China !!!WTF!!!!this is sabotage ,how much more unseen of this is going on now??? sorry 5 days wait for another axle to come in!!!!!!

don't the ford use the inside of the disc hub -mini drum brakes? or like jag xj-6 style ? both can work but this means some work and mods ! oh yes its a jeep thing,lesson learned !
