  1. Man - the boss leaves for a couple of days, and all of the spammer's show up. Some how they found the Doggie door in back. Got to get a "No Solicitor's" Emoticon posted here :thwak: I know, they will be gone in a couple of days, after the figuer out that what little money we have goes right back in to the Jeep's. :teehee:
  2. Just as a thought, I'd check the rear brake shoes / adjusters first, thats if there is no fluid loss from a brake line / hose popping. Its posible that the master cyl is locking up, not fully returning, I had that happen on a ford van after a panic stop, and had to replace the master cyl. :wrench:
  3. Finished up with the windshield decals Then I thought, why not the DD, so- I know, it's not Jeep, but it's a Jeep thing, you know  Don't have to worry about the wipers hitting the decal on this thing :brows:
  4. Pete - I got the windshield decals in mail today, kind of neat how you got them shipped out ;) All arived here safe. The check is in the mail. I know I've heard that some place else :hmm: No, really, the $$ went out this morning  Will try to get them on tomorrow if its not raining here. And get pictures posted. Wildman
  5. MoparRobbie - There was alot of coverage on this subject some time ago, and here is the post about the rear porportioning valve - http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... ning+valve I redid my lines with only one line from the front, to the back and used the "T" from the rear to tie the lines togetter in the front, and just cut off the rotted out rear valve, also the parts to rebuild it don't exist anymore. Only problem I have is, with no load in the back, and on a panic stop, my front brakes lock up. Also, read up on what Eagle had wrote up, very good explation on this subject.
  6. MoparRobbie - Great find on a garage sale deal Now just think now many MJ's you can get when you sell the guitar :brows:
  7. I've plowed the past 2 years with a '88 MJ and never had a problem, in fact on some light pushes, 2-3 inches of snow, I can push it in 2 wd, forgot to lock in the shifter  A friend bought a XJ and then found this MJ, I switched the plow on to his XJ and he used it one year, not bad results, then I bought the plow back from him and put it back on my MJ and used it. The MJ is much better for plowing, because you can see where your backing up, I can turn around in a driveway with it, can't wait to get the thing up and running again this winter. The one on the left, 7ft Snowway poly blade, in the bed. PS - now that Pete show me how to post pictures
  8. Thanks Pete for helping me out  I'll get it one of these times :hateputers: Anyways, the 12" stickers look great, greatly improves the look, kind of takes your eye away from all of the rust :teehee: real easy to apply too. Mag cards are great too, I know, don't get them wet, already hand one out to the guy next to my shop, a Chevy man at that. Thanks for your help, and the decales ;) Wildman
  9. I know it's not the best, but for a couple of uses, Harbor Freight have a folding hoist on sale until 8/28 for 149.99. Whats that equal, 5-6 days for a rental? Just another item on my wish list :brows: Equipment / Tools that I only use once in a while, Harbor Frieght, ever day use, much better quality. :D
  10. Got my sticker, and installed in the "proper" place 1989 Comanche Thanks Pete :jump: Wildman
  11. I have see postal XJ's around here (mail carriers), but don't you think that this would be a common thing in the J-yard in UK and Australia? Of course, shipping would be a killer on that idea :dunno:
  12. richfactor- That look great The new paint really makes the body lines stand out. New rims really dress it off - Nice Job :clapping:
  13. Dirty- On your D44, try unscrewing the "ring", that should be the bearing retainer ring, and the "holes" in the ring is for a special wrench. I have a D60 on my DD and found the same thing, and just installed couple of drif pins in the holes to remove it, and its the old hand tighten, and back off 1/4 turn to reinstall the retainer.
  14. Now I know what happens when you park to close to the house when the house painters show up and start spraying
  15. Great looking repair job ;) And thanks for saving another MJ  from the junkers.
  16. Jp - nice find :clapping: Good luck with you project, hope your not running is only a minor problem, like bad wires. or CPS for an easy fix, but then again, it is a Jeep. And you will be :driving: that Soon.
  17. Twisted - Great find for the $$ :clapping: CW is right about the rear porp valve, I chop mine off and used the Tee at the front porp valve, and after a couple of panic stops, my front wheels lock up, not the rears, with no problems. save your self some time and just cut all of the old break lines, wheel cyls and even the front calper right out, I just did my 89 this way, because of sitting and rotting, and all of the above parts were shot. Parts are cheeper than the time to try to save the old (Advance Auto) have most of the parts on the shelf, Hoses had to be ordered and not bad in price. Also, I found that with the truck sitting for some time, all of the seals in the axels, T-case were all shot (dryed out) and leaking. but you might get better luck with yours. :dunno: This Form here was a great help for me getting it done  Good luck, and in no time you will be :driving: your NEW
  18. Pete - Looks good, get it glued on, then we can see you coming.....LOL
  19. :jump: Thanks Pete Now I won't get any more stock offers in my e-mail. Only stock I buy is MJ stock ;) BTW...... kool mud flaps on your other post, now you need the hood ornament to match :D
  20. Jaekl - I agree, that the cable is the problem. rejeep - I'll keep you in mind and probly will go with what you have. Eagle - Let me know how you make out with the replacement part, this is what I'm looking for. And thanks for the info. I just never had and good luck with j-yard around here, eather the parts were more that new prices, or the part was half shot. J-yards are a dime a dozen around here, one road has 3 in a row, and one street has 3 yards including u-pull-it, but all are way over priced, and I know that I would find 50 mj's and yj's all with the same problem. Thanks all for the info so far ;)
  21. I don't think that the J-Yard would be the answer, of the 3 MJ's I've had, all of the drivers windows did the same thing. Have 2 MJ's now, and have the same problem. Looking for complete doors for the 88, and that would solve one problem. Been searching for a replacement part for the regulator. Would power windows solve the problem? or is it just a replacement for the hand crank? using the same "shaft" to operate the window. Thanks ;)
  22. Has any one found a source for parts to replace the stock window regulator? Not that I don't mind getting out and yanking up on the glass to get it to caught back into the gear  Tryed serching and can not find any replacement parts for this.
  23. My stock 89 SWB 4wd- Front 17- 3/4" Rear 21-1/4" Center of hub to bottom of flair Can check my lwb tomarrow if you need that ;)
