Since its kinda the same issue. AT my nieghbors house once i reply to a topic or even look at one i go to click the new post icon and it says no new post exist. Does anyone know what to do to fix this or do i just suffer threw it. If anyone has had the same trouble just let me know how you fixed it. Cole -
I just have a design i wanted a few more eyes to look at because i think it is a great homemade dual stabilizer setup. This is something my friend on base came up with on his YJ. He has the trac bar removed since its got leaf springs and we didnt feel it needed it :brows: . He took the mount hole on the axle and attached one end of the stbilizer to it and then made a mount that bends around the drag link that when tightened down clamps hard enough to hold it in place. The clamp we feel really needs to be at least spot welded on so it has no chance to move. I just want to see how everyone on here thinks it will do? I know its not a MJ but i also know that alot of our members have some great off-road jeeps and MJs and would have a great perception as to how well this design is. Also it was free since we had an extra stabilizer. Enough of the talk here are the pics. here is what it looks like sitting The green one on top is the homemade job just incase you didnt see it Drag link end Axle end Cole

Your best bet is to remove the hinge pins which can be a PITA just beat the sh*& out of them or unbolt the hinge from the door. The reason you have to do this is because a sawzall blade won't cut without smacking the door. After you do either of the above you can easily cut the lower third off with a sawzall and then put everything back together with new hinge pin (perferably shorter ones around 1.5") cause the longer they are the harder they are to line up and get to drop in. Also set the top one in so its a little shorter so you can get one in then the other will start easily. Then realign the door or just mark the points around the door half of the hinge before you remove it. And you should be good to go. One more thing the tool i found easiest to use is in this post: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1613 Cole

I cut the lower third of the hinge off here is a diagram and my write up on it. If you have any more questions let me know it was fairly simple. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1217 This is a pic of the actual hinge after it was cut.

Its from walmart. there is a post with a pic of the can in another post but i don't know which one. Its called camoflouge somethning another. You can also order it in gallon sizes from a military surplus store online so you could spray it from a gun like you are "suposed to" as i have been told by my friends on base. if you need more details let me know i will take a pic of the can if noone else knows where to find it. Are you talking the body or all componets? IE( motor, trans,.........) Cole

I know its not much but the old perches are going to hang down and could cause clearance issues.IMO but thats not to say its a bad setup. I kinda like it its the same concept of the ubolt eliminators but its not helping clearance like they do. Cole

I may try it it can't make it any worse than it is. I just go to wait for the afternoon rains to stop so i can do something. :headpop: Cole

Just to jump in here. ;) I had fabricated a cold air intake about 2 months ago and even made a big fancy shield BUT it did not seal to the hood which left a gap. I took it out to a big mudders day thing and drove threw a couple of rather large to medium size holes and when i lifted the dood the once white filter was brown and black. The only way to seal it completely is to some how make it so it seals to the hood. Just my 2 cents Cole

I had seen Comando's jeep about three months ago on this site and thats the reason i finnaly got the balls to do it after 7 months of haveing the paint. I was worried that the rattle can idea wasnt going to work to well but it looks alot better than haveing all the primered spots all over the truck  . I am happy with the results and i think I'm going to do the numbers but i don't know about the big star. Decisions Decisions Cole

Let's talk alternators.
JOMJ87 replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had a guy in my hometown that took my old alt and beefed it up (he was a alt and starter repair guy). It only cost me about 30-40 bucks and it worked really well until my battery decided it didnt like it. Cole -
I am hopeing if its as rigid as i think it will be it should sit just like the stock one but there is a ridge around the inside of mine i could throw some screws in and cover it with the fabric if all else fails. Cole
-
Kinda like this But what numbers should i use??????????? Cole
-
Correct it WAS a mount for a smaller sized cb attenna until it met a tree and then a rock face but that nub still remains and it will leave a huge hole if i remove it so it will stay until i find something to go there to cover it. Maybe a sticker or something i just don't know yet. Cole

Let me know how it fits as well as pics just in case the fiberglass homemade job falls threw. I cut the fiberglass mat to fit and now just need to start putting the resin on (If I can get rid of this DAMN PINK EYE) :headpop: and if it will quit raining every afternoon. Cole

In WW2 It was the Army AIR Corp so its all the same :brows: If you get technical with it. Plus i really like the old school paint job alot. I have had alot of people say pretty much the same thing "your air force not army" or "you can't be that hardcore about the military" i have heard it all but i love that paint job on the MB jeeps. Cole

I forgot to mention My buddy talked me into putting the stars on the doors and he wants me to put a big one on the hood??? I got the driver side star on and will do the other tomorrow and i will post pics hopefully tomorrow. What do yall think of the one on the hood should i dare or not???Also i thought of doing numbers on the side of the bed near the cab kindof like the MB jeeps of WW2 but i am thinking of MJ-87 or MJ-1987 I just don't know how does this sound also? I just need some help decideing to do the last 2 things but the first is started. Kind of like this one has the numbers and the star on the hood also the numbers would be on the bed side near the cab. Cole

That is a roll bar off of a Ford ranger It bolted right on no issues. You might want to look in to this since there are prob more rangers than manches floating around. My MOS (Its called AFSC in the air force) is 3E9X1 which means I'm a Chemical/Biological/Nuclear guy but mostly chemical warfare.so if any thing bad happens with any of these we go find it and figure out how bad it is and plot it out on a map...I also teach Chem Warfare Class (the class where you get gassed with tear gas :brows: ) It intels alot more but i would be here all night explaining it but thats the main stuff and the FUN.
