Looking to lizard skin then raptor line the floors. Don’t plan on having carpet and would prefer to have drain plugs like my JK did. Made for super easy cleanup. I'm looking for input from anybody who’s added drain holes to their cab. Bonus if there’s a rubber plug kit that goes along with that advice! Thanks!

Got a friend in need for a tricky to find part. Don’t know if that’s the actual name for it, but it’s the top linkage in the photo. It’s a 1958 Chevy Apache Panel Delivery. Any help in finding this would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Body shop is trying to nickel and dime me where they can, and now they want extra for taking the cab vents off to paint properly. They didn’t bother to pull the rear fender flares, but I don’t know if I even want to try pulling those. Can anybody tell me how to pull the cab vents out? Ideally they’ll come out in one piece, but at this point, if they break, I don’t care, just don’t want to give this guy more money.

Has anybody put gladiator fender flares on their MJ? Wondering if so, because I’d like information on how and pics!

I’ve had nothing but problems with the vacuum lines on my MJ. Plus I liked the idea of being able to relocate the A/C controls wherever I wanted to free up space from the center of the dash. I’m toying with the idea of deleting the radio (replace with Bluetooth enabled amplifier), removing the A/C panel, closing off the bottom vent, and maybe do some kind of storage or in dash setup with an iPad. In any case, just posted here in case anyone might want to know about it.

This is a project somebody in All Things Jeep Comanche is working on. Didn’t know if it was a thing a lot of people knew about, but just want to share. I am not affiliated with the seller, but anything I can do to get rid of vacuum lines is worth it.

Space for center console between Tiburon Seat swap
KoopaKid replied to KoopaKid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for that. I got a mini console to go around the shifter, and wanted to find a more useful armrest. I’d even considered an ice chest or modifying an ammo can to fit a cupholder, but I’m open to ideas. I’d really like something more compact, if that’s possible. -
For anybody who’s done the Tiburon seat swap; any idea how much clearance you had between the seats for a center console? I’m looking at upgrading to this console: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V9FWSA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_D26QRX2FKXE0999P44WB Really hate the rather useless stock one, that’s the only reason I want to swap. This one appears to be 12.75” wide.

You could also do this, which is what I'm doing on my '88.

Cool, i'll let you know once I've sorted through the mess and put it back together again. Currently hunting for interior trim. Upholsterer of previous owner made a gigantic mess of things.
-
i'm removing my cruise control. swapping to ax15, and I didn't really use it, even when the truck was rolling.

In disassembling the interior of my MJ, I found (1) a small area with several rust, (2) a very poor job done by an upholsterer which involved driving NEW holes/screws through the plastic trim AND the cab (and glued carpet to the back instead of reupholstering the now discarded rear panel), and (3) most panels are broken, cracked, and a variety of different colors of gray. My initial plan was to have all the panels painted, but after seeing some broken, cracked, discolored, and...reupholstered...I really don’t want to put them back in. I had the idea of no carpet, just lizard skin/bedliner interior with drain holes in the floor for draining water (had this in a jk and I loved it) then any wiring that runs around the cab have neatly placed in plastic looms, tucked to the side or held in place by pop rivets. The only plastics I’ll put back in will be the dashboard and around the console shifter; full console will be removed, and the plan is to use an ice chest as an armrest/center console. This looks great in my head, but has anybody actually done this? I’d really like to see any pics if there are any out there. Attached is my removal of the dynomat on the hunt for rust and the holey floor panel

i'm probably getting rid of mine, but I'm trying to figure out a more compact console solution first. Bought a mini console for a cherokee off eBay, and trying to figure out how I can mount an ice chest/cooler as an armrest. Keep in touch and I'll see about selling it to you if you're still looking for it.

Might be able to get away with going to a junkyard and pulling the trim off an 84-96 Cherokee, since they both have the triangle windows.

If you decide to sell the black interior trim, I'd be interested. Awesome find at the junkyard.

91-96 XJ pedals in 88 Laredo/Upgrading brake system
KoopaKid replied to KoopaKid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have my much more qualified ASE friend "helping me" (I'm helping him, really) and he's got an idea what to do based on the explanation from CC members. -
91-96 XJ pedals in 88 Laredo/Upgrading brake system
KoopaKid replied to KoopaKid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I’m considering everything. After reading that the 96 XJ booster has like double the braking power, I became super interested. Just weighing my options is all. I’ll keep you updated! -
91-96 XJ pedals in 88 Laredo/Upgrading brake system
KoopaKid replied to KoopaKid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Awesome! I’d thought about just switching out the booster, but didn’t know of it would work until I googled and searched CC for more info. My much bigger worry is that there would just be something that straight up wouldn’t work with the pedals. -
Well, I accidentally bought 91-96 XJ pedals. I'm still thinking of selling them, but after conversing with @Torq_Shep and poring through CC posts, I might take this as an opportunity to upgrade to a ‘96 XJ brake system. Before I get all gung-ho about it and start throwing yet more money into my black hole project, aside from needed the 91+ stoplight switch, can the pedals be used in my pre-91 truck?
