  1. LOL, don't worry, I just cleared out my digi cam and bringing extra batteries, so I can take up to about 160 pictures. If I don't come back with any worthy pics, there's something wrong.
  2. Well, just like the title says, I'm taking off early tomorrow morning to head up north to visit them crazy canadians. It's just too bad my MJ has the dreaded DW, or else I'd be taking that with me. My mom's boyfriend has a cabin uup somewhere in Manitoba, and I got told I had no choice, I was going with, so I'll be around here until about 6pm central time, then gotta go to his house so we can leave in the morning. Just thought I'd share this with you all.
  3. I don't know too much about the tcases, but as far as the rtanny goes, I'd personally go with the 700r4w as well, that is unless you can get your hands on a 4 speed muncie :brows:
  4. Is that a stock MJ color? If not it should've been, cuz, WOW that thing is nice. I almost cringed at the before pics, but I gotta give ya credit, good job man.
  5. That's a part of life I know all about first hand. I had money saved up to get my front end fixed, now I have a mass of medical bills to use it on. It sucks.
  6. I'd say, DO IT, I mean who's gonna miss a couple road signs anyways? BTW, I am just joking.
  7. Thanks guys, I'm hoping for a quick recovery too, but more importantly than that, I'm hoping for a sucessful recovery. He walked away with just some minor scratches and bruises along with a case of whiplash, I almost think he was luckier than I was. Yea, they're strong lil cars I gotta give them that, of course when I first started running it I was getting laughed at for running a wagon. After a few weeks of racing they didn't laugh any more.
  8. Yea, I do believe I was pretty lucky on that one, and thanks, it helps me to know that people other than friends and family are there for me.
  9. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A LONG POST Well, as some of you may or may not have noticed, I've been gone for a while. This is because I was involved in a serious racing wreck. I race (well, now used to race) at a track a couple hours away from me in the 4 cyl. hornet class with a '93 Ford Escort wagon. Well, on the night of June 9th, I went racing as usual, my heat race went well and I got a 2nd place which was good for the feature. Well, I drew the pole position for the feature and all was good on the first lap, then as I was entering turn 1, my left rear tire blew out causing me to spin sideways just as the fastest car on the track (an '89 turbo rustang) was coming into the corner. I don't remember the accident or anything until a week after, but have seen the video of what happened, but needless to say the driver of the rustang had no time to react and t-boned me full force right behind the front tire on the driver's side. As the safety crew came up to check on the otherr driver and ask him if he was ok, they noticed I was out cold, head slumped down and all. After they pushed his car away from mine, it took them almost 2 hours to get me out as they had to cut my door off, cut my rollcage apart, cut the steering column off, my clutch pedal, and cut part of my seat to get me out. They didn't even bother with taking my helmet or neck brace off, in case it would do damage, or loading me into an ambulance, and call in med evac, and had me airlifted to Minneapolis Minnesota. As I got there I started regaining conciousness, and the doctors decided it was best to put me into a clinically induced coma. I was in the coma for a week and awoke to find out I was hurting pretty bad. Ended up with a severe concussion, dislocated left shoulder, cracked the bone in my upper lseft arm, virtually shattered my left wrist, cracked 3 ribs, broke 2 more ribs, one of which was 2mm away from completely puncturing my lung, cracked my hip, hairline fracture in my femur, broke both bones in my lower leg, and essentially snapped my ankle into many many pieces. Come to find out that when I was pulled from the car, my leg was straight like I was pressing in the clutch, but the outside of my foot was wedged under the clutch pedal, I have since had a total of 3 surgeries, one to get my ribs back in place and two on my ankle, with about three more to go before my ankle is almost normal. I spent a lil over a month in, and just got out yesterday, and go back to the docs on the 2nd to see how I'm healing. Sorry about the long post, but just thought you all might like to know about my latest near death experience.
  10. Oh, sure, here I open the thread thinking to myself, hhmm... big brown trucks leave big boxes, come to find out, you already opened the box(es). Nice grab though, hopefully they work to your liking.
  11. No joke, it'd be a big improvement for me. ( See sig)
  12. What all was done in the $800 fix? I know some people install dual stabilizer shocks sometimes, but that just masks the root problem. Well, that's the funny (not really) side of the story, the guy I took it to claims he had to replace almost everything up front TRE's sway bar, you name it. If I could find the work order again (somewhere in a mess of papers) I'd give a good look over, because a real good friend of mine that I trust, says that only one, maybe two parts were replaced. So, when I get a chance to I'm gonna take it back to the guy and tell him off, and that he'd better fix it right this time, and he'd better not charge me for it either.
  13. I'm pretty sure it's been said in here before but back in the day the Archer brothers raced Comanches in the trans am series? or was it scca? I don't remember what series for sure but they raced em, and from what I can remember, they did dominate.
  14. Well, since my beloved '88 has decided to give me the dreaded death wobble yet again, I have found a 4wd already lifted MJ in town with a for sale sign in the windshield, haven't stopped to talk to the people yet but it don't look that bad, kinda cancerous but what can ya expect from a WI truck. I'm not even sure on the year or specs yet, but I do know its silver with what look like factory striping on it in a odd color green. I'm hoping to find out more soon as I'm at my wits end with my '88 and this 4wd would complete my collection.
  15. Death Wobble sucks a major one, I had it about a year ago, took it in to get fixed, cost me a lil over $800 to fix. Now almost a year later IT'S BACK!!!! I swear that if I didn't have so much sentimental value in this truck I'd ship it off to the crusher.
  16. Ya could always do what I did, red and yellow are usually power and black is almost always ground, after that I just switched the fade and balance on the head unit and tried different wires till I got the correct speaker working. I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but it worked for me.
  17. So that's why mine is always covered in oil, I've asked around and been told as many different answers as people I've asked. None of them were what you guys were saying it is. Looks like ya helped more than one person out here.
  18. Nice, use something that was meant for one good project and use it for an even better project.
  19. Same as you guys, been yahoo searching every once in a while to see if a comanche forum has been made, forgot about searching for a few months, so decided to check again, and low and behold found this one. Thanks to all who were involved in making this board.
  20. Don't know what to tell ya man, when I bought mine the e-brake pedal was on the floor and never come up since, of course the cable had obviously been cut before the pedal was pressed, so I don't know what an e-brake is, so my manche and parking on hills don't get along too well :headpop:
  21. Dang man, I wish I had friend's like that! Good grabs though.
  22. OUCH, that sucks, glad ya ok though, and good luck with the insurance company, they always try to screw ya. Like it's been said, just make a trail rig outta it, no one really cares how it looks then.
  23. Looks nice, reminds me of a ranger that runs around here, cept he has it painted purple :ack:
  24. Well guys, I just signed up here after looking for a comanche only forum, thankfully other people thought of the idea also. Here's my '88 MJ, there aint much to it, but it's all mine and paid for.
