  1. It looks like it would be easy to extend it rearward on the driver's side and maybe widen it to use it as a reinforcement there, as well?
  2. Could have been burnt up in an insurance scam but what if, as mentioned above, it turns out to be a key piece in a bigger crime? I'd call.
  3. I read the back story on the Bullit chase...That Mopar kept walking away from the Mustang...
  4. I had read Moabs had 5" of B.S. most places. Interesting
  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Che ... 563cd0e925 Thoughts?
  6. KC's have been highly counterfieted on the ebay,etc... circuit for years. You may not be getting what you pay for on any of these items if the don't come from a reputable dealer. I have noticed a rust problem on KC's here in the rust belt, as well.
  7. I think Hellcreek posted that the FSJ rear pack was actually about like a stock MJ pack, so it should be the same???? Most of those used spring packs are very sagged so that might get you what you want, though.
  8. IIRC, the rule of thumb on shaft engagement is that as long the splines are engaged to an amount equal to the diameter of the shaft you are good to go???
  9. Late '70's. F250s are very popular as they had HP D44 fronts & leaf springs with D60 rears, in many cases. Many find these to be more adaptable than the F150/Bronco axles with cast-in radius arms. Although people have mentioned building a custom front crossmember and using the Ford arms.
  10. Apples and oranges, but my CTD dually with an A518 auto had the cooler under the bedside from the factory and it had its own fan . I surrounded with expanded metal to allow air flow but to stop a lot of road debris. If you looked under there on the MJ, I'd bet you find a place with minimal debris spray by looking at dirt patterns that already exist. The negative is that wiring an aux. fan is a must and isolated mounting would be needed if noise was a concern. The plus is that I beat the crap out of that truck for 180,000 miles and never had a tranny issue.
  11. If it comes down to it, talk to the bank about surrendering the vehicle as opposed to (1) making them find you/dodging their calls and/or (2) repo'ing it. Sometimes they will work with you and your credit score won't take as big of a hit.
  12. I'll bet that 4.7 makes more torque than a you think at the same RPM that the I6 peaks and then contnues on... the 3.7 is made out of a 4.7 and it reaches peak tq of 230 only 500 rpms past the I6's and then has more room on the other end.
  13. There is a guy on LOSTJEEPS.com selling 4 spidertrax adapters to make those work because he accidentally bought JK rims. Then found a set of Moabs. Let me know. He wants $100 for all 4.
  14. 5.25" of BS is also the BS of KJ's, if anyone was looking for a junk yard source for 16" rims... Clear on the Rallyes having 5.25". Thanks all.
  15. Pantera's are extremely cool with the mid-engined 351 ( for the majority ) and I have driven one, but most of the L-M "exclusives" listed are rebadged imports, so that would kind of go with the badge-engineering thing. The 67-70 Cougar is to Mustang what Falcon was to Comet or Firebird was to Camaro. Same difference. Except of course in 71 or so when Cougars grew huge and became Thunderbirds or became imports in the FWD version, but were still based on a European Ford ( Contour?). The first Carpi's were European Ford's, as well, and the Miata-fighter was an Australian Ford product. No new ground in any of those. Heck, the first Mustangs were nothing new and exciting as hyped: they were re-hashed Falcons. I liked my old '67 Comet Caliente, though. I spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours in CVPI's for untold miles. I was never impressed. My last was a 2005 ( I am retired now) and they were not fast or quick. I honestly outran a 1992 version light-to-light in a 1990 Festiva in 1992. I outran a 2001 in my CTD dually over about a 1/4 mile. The '05 would only do 120 with a lightbar on it & it it took a l o n g time to get there. I would guesstimate the 1/4 mile time around 17-18 seconds at the fastest. Google Michigan State Police Vehicle testing. You will find that the CVPI has trouble keeping up with the V6 Charger and is a full TWO SECONDS behind the 5.7 Charger in 0-60!!! Mopar has owned the cruiser business in acceleration, top speed, braking, and skid pad since they re-entered the business and showed the world that the CVPI is a kind of a dog.
  16. So would the factory white 15x7 Rallyes ( they look like an old wagon wheel with a black pin stripe) have a 5" backspacing?
  17. Thanks folks!
  18. I realize that the springs are a different length, but I was thinking that a l o n g XJ AAL would fall somehwere between an MJ short & long AAL...?
  19. Although the length would be different, would a long AAL for an XJ give the same lift to an MJ despite the SUA/SOA difference? Just curious....
  20. Kind of under-powered by today's big power standards. It may have thousands and thousands of idle hours on it that would never have shown up on an odometer. Is parts availability an issue? I am a huge fan of the 4bt
  21. When were they ever anything else? I am sorry, but to me that last Maruader was such a wasted opportunity... They should have been much more than they were.
  22. You have your forum classified ad goodies shipped to your office so that the UPS guy doesn't show up at your house AGAIN
  23. IIRC, TJ Moabs are 5" b.s.??? Is that a "fer anybody" buckshot price or a buddy deal?
  24. Nice thread. Pics of the rear bumper mounts/frame attachment?
