yea i have 96 cluster guages. and its obdII. only 1996 and up have obdII but chevy corvette 1995 is obdII too ;) I'm soon on the way to west chicago to pick up my parts

one of my friend and his 96 xj is offering me to get his oil pressure sending unit(electronic), ect, speed sensor(the one on transfercase to read the vehicle speed and those r which worth as i need for my new 96 cluster gauges needs all those sensors r worth 40 bucks and the mileage on xj is about 16xxxxx so do you think its worth it? I'm go stop by his home and get those parts.

You should pick one up. If the truck was running at the time you had the lights on like you said, then died, the alternator was most likely toast. You'll just cook another battery if you put the new one in and try again without checking the system. Rob L. i know I'm still in budget to save money i means engine still running while light is on (lowbeam, other lights) then switched to highbeam... engine died i just replaced my alternator. its been test and its passed. :hmm:

i totally agree all of your comments! my tips: * make sure u check wires if there corrision or not. if yes replace it! *use solder to seal wires-never use tape and please use heat shrink. *check your vacuum hoses before think hard to make sure engine running fine *wash your jeep after wheelin! mud is most reason why ur jeep get more rust faster than normal after wheelin (i learn that lesson from my brother) *NEVER use standard socket on metric bolt or metric socket on standard bolt... or you will possible have headache. thats what happened to my cluster guages. its all tape wrapped and havent solder so its all corrision and weak as sh*t I havent finish fix it all yet :mad:

well i know but its for sure its battery. i took it to autozone and its rehcarge and its not good plus when i got it tow from my friends home to my home. someone idiot put headlight on while tow it so he discharge my battery full way all the way to my home so its hard to rechargemy battery second... i don't have voltmeter :( its died on me

You are asking that is it possible for the battery to die when the high beams are on? Yes but not with a functioning (or properly operating) alternator. hmm alright thanks. battery isnt cheap :( is there any way trick to buy battery for cheap like 50 bucks than 70-100ish?

after I fixed my vacuum hoses to keep engine run proper and unnecessary to feed gas all the way to keep engine alive, it runs much better. but it died after test with highbeam which it draw enough amp from battery then engine died. so do u think its possible because of battery to die after testing with the highbeams?

yea tell him truth like me i supposed bought my mj for 1600 but bought it for 1300 by replace oilpan gasket and retight lower radiator hose than replace and wield the draglink steering system. so i save 300 bucks and only spend 15 dollars to fix it all ;)

what about fatboy bulbs? my brother has them for his tj and they r great and alot brighter than my subaru's projector lamp before i got HIDs ;)

dang but alright i just cleaned it up and remove broken hoses stuck inside and hook everything back on. its look like almost new plus got new pcv too. its sit much better. i gott need new battery because i sent it to autozone to recharge it and its fail so i gotta replace it but i kind don't believe to autozone since they tend said it need replace thats all... new pcv and better connect

true but is there any store/website/etc. that have parts to replace that bracket connector for vacuum hoses thingy?

since i replaced the alternator with 100amp engine finally running but keep dying on idle speed. so i have keep feed it gas to keep alive so i checked all vacuum and used alldatadiy.com vacuum hose diagram to see if there any issues... then i noticed that pcv tube was all loose like it won't sit well just movable easily and little cracked but not leaking any oil just on bottom near the valve. so should i replace it anyway? and that bracket thing aka connector of all/most vacuum line seem very dirty - cover debris, mud, duct taped, dual clamped, etc. so i remove it and clean it up and remove duct tapes. and remove two clamps and its come off very easy. then afterward that tube where duct tape was cover is cracked so i think maybe i should replace that bracket connector? so is that possible why engine won't running well on idle and had to keep feeding on gas? here's my pics to help my terrible grammar more clear that bracket connector I'm talking about pcv duct taped with 2 clamps edit: maybe its possible why my engine running lousy because of faulty tps/or IAC?
