  1. Great looking truck. Rear XJ shackles lower the rear about an inch or so. May be an option other than blocks. I found when I lowered mine, (ZJ springs in front) I was basically riding on the bump stops in the front. I’ll be curious as to what you come up with to lower it. Keep the posts coming!
  2. Apparently the gestation period is only 9 weeks for pigs. We will wait until she is a year old to have her mated. They can become pregnant as early as 6 months but will possibly damage their body from not being fully developed. Kinda hoping on butchering 2 pigs a year once we get going. All depends on how fast we go through the meat. I was told the optimum butchering weight is 300-400lbs for the male so he will only get to about 7-8 months old. Still our first go at the pigs and this is just my understanding so far. They are fun animals to have around. Don’t stink as bad as I thought either. Would definitely suggest getting pigs to anyone thinking about doing it.

  4. I agree with most people on the issue. You can pry my old Jeeps out of my cold, dead hands! The Astronomical prices they are asking for new vehicles these days do not justify the product you receive in my opinion. I would argue your MJ is the most reliable vehicle you own. Let’s see your 2011 Explorer in 30 years. Bet the MJ will still be around (if no acts of god take her) I think about the cost and process of having to replace an engine on anything less than 5 years old. Seems like the dealership does anything possible to void the warranty. MJ engine blows, $500 on marketplace and a weekend of time, you’re back on the road. Plus, when was the last time someone commented on your 2011 Explorer? Oh man! Is that your Explorer? I remember riding around as a kid in my uncles 2011 Ford Explorer. Loved that thing. Or I always hear, I used to have a Comanche! Wish I never sold that truck. Said nobody about a 2011 Explorer. lol. Keep the Jeeps!!! PS, I showed this thread to my wife and she said 2 Jeeps? That’s it? He need more Comanches!
  5. Pretty sure the thermostat is going out again. This one will be the 4th I’ve installed. Had some overheating issues today while pulling Chinook pass for another load of fire wood. Have always noticed but never stopped at this old mine shaft. While the truck was cooling down my daughter and I walked up and checked it out. Goes in 20-25 feet into solid rock.
  6. The truck just keeps looking better and better. Keep up the good work Sir.
  7. I came around the corner to that and just had to get a picture. Taken off an IPhone.
  8. Down in “South Hill” Puyallup I suppose you could call it. Just above Orting.
  9. Making a work horse out of the Commuter truck. Saw some pretty sights over Chinook pass!
  10. Rolled 170,000 miles today. Put the old girl to work, went and got a decent load of firewood. No complaints from CommuteChe like usual. Such a pleasure to drive these old trucks.
  11. Spotted this Beauty in Puyallup Wa. On Canyon Road.
  12. Id be interested!
  13. Just recently got these two Berkshire pigs. This will be our first attempt with pigs. The one with brown is a male, we named him Porkchop because we plan on getting him butchered. The other pig is a breeder and we’re going to keep her around to have a constant supply of delicious pork in the freezer. We’ll keep one piglet from her litter to butcher again. Luckily the people we got the pigs from have a breeder boar. Along with the pigs we have a bunch of chickens and ducks too. We also have a bunch of cats running around here too. Not unusual but some have unusual names. Mush Bush No Booger Bushel Shrimp Quattro Pendejo Uno Mewchacho and Banjo
  14. I have one (an Eagle) just up the road from me. Drives by frequently. Sometimes on a tow truck too! Lol.
  15. For sale in Auburn Wa. Never does mention the rear D44. Calls it a metric ton.
  16. Had these two fly over the job site today in Orting Wa.
  17. Unfortunately my crippling Comanche addiction doesn’t allow me to afford such delicacies.
  18. My 31-10.5-15s on 01 XJ wheels rubs pretty significantly on the “frame” behind the rear tires. Has a factory 44. Haven’t measured if it’s centered or not. Black spray paint worked wonders for me, until it flexed out again.
  19. Kinda hard to tell, but that looks like a black spoked steering wheel?
  20. Old 5 gallon plastic dirtbike gas cans work nicely for transport in my experience. Or if you run Delo or know someone who does, they sell it in 2.5 gallon jugs, they’re nice as well for transportation and storage
  21. I totally agree! One of my favorite parts of this state.
  22. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of the 50k miles mark in CommuteChe but we rolled it recently. Got to have some fun in the old girl recently however. Went camping over Chinook pass. It sure was beautiful. Mount Rainier Wildflowers all over the place. Even put the Commuter truck to work hauling home another load of firewood.
  23. Would you do the Beowulf again? I’ve definitely thought about doing one. Or a .458 Socom. I like the thought of a short range thumper.
